So I've always had some allergies to various beddings, but I've been having a real hard time with the rats' urine lately too, so much so that I've been changing the entire pans of their cage out every other day. So I decided one day to try going without bedding. The three rats in the top half of my superpet ferret cage don't have bedding (besides some fleece and a litter box) because they don't have a pan, I wipe their shelves down daily, but I didn't think of going bedding free in the cages that do have pans. I'm so glad I did. Its made such a big difference on how well I can breathe and best of all, no more vacuuming up bedding off the floor.
