Oh yeah. Skiing accident. We'd rented a house at Lake Tahoe for a week!! WEEE!! The first day we went cross country skiing. NOT as easy as it looks! The second day, we hit the slopes, specifically the moguls. I went one way, my ski and knee went the other. Ok, so that was painful, but the next day I figured I was just a little sore. Hit the SAME MOGULS and the same thing happened, except to the OTHER knee, since I was babying the first knee. This time I realized I'd damaged something pretty badly. So I spent the rest of the 3.5 days sitting at home reading while everyone else had a great time skiing. When we got back home (yeah, I waited it out, could barely walk, etc), I went to the doctor who sent me home on crutches and one knee brace, talking about needing surgery for torn ligaments and something else. It never happened, as I got pregnant right after. Actually, I was already pregnant, but didn't know and had a miscarriage the next week, but then got pregnant pretty much immediately after that. So surgery never happened. To this day I have to be careful with my knees.
Oh, and playing softball back in February. I was running to first base. I got hit by the ball on my arm. Ok, fine, but I wasn't out!! The next time I was up, I was running and pretty much at the same spot, I pulled a calf muscle. Not just pulled it, but TORE it really badly. The doctor couldn't believe I was walking without a boot or crutches. I did use crutches, but only for about 3 days. I didn't know how serious it really was until 3 or 4 days later and suddenly my ankle was black, and then it crept up to make the entire back of my leg and my entire foot black and blue. That was really scary.
