I love my pets!

« on: September 16, 2003, 04:17:35 PM »

I was sitting out on the back porch this morning, like I do every morning, and all of a sudden I see my cat jump up in the air into one of the plants I have, and grab something...

She got a HUMMING BIRD!! It wasn't really hurt that I could see, I watched it for a while, and he could still sorta fly. He was really cute. I think it was a baby, because he didn't have the full red neck, only about 4 feathers were red. (red neck means its a boy). Finally he started flittering around the cage I had him in (to observe him and make sure he wasn't too hurt), so I went outside and opened the cage, and he flew off.  Grin

Anyways, here is some pictures of him.

WOW...quick cat!

Glad you were there and the bird made it alive. Rare from what I've seen. One of my dogs will knock the birds out of the sky...I hate when she does that.

We have ruby throated all over out here. One flew into the garage and we didn't notice him until we went to close the doors for the night. Obviously they're not nocturnal so he just kept flying back in the garage where it was light. Couldn't see where he was going outside so we put him in a birdcage outside and let him go in the early morning. We had a heck of a time catching him! They're adorable though!
