Oh Rats!

« on: January 29, 2008, 11:22:16 AM »

My roommate has a budgie and she ALWAYS picks at the bars of her cage.  We think it's because she's trying to get to my bird, which is a love bird.  We moved her as far away as possible, but the budgie can still see her.  We got her a cuttle bone to see if that would help, and her beak is doing better, but she is still picking at the bars.. any advice?
Thanks!

She's likely bored. How big is her cage? Does she have room to fly? How many toys does she have? Are they just mirrors/plastic? Give her a variety of chewing toys (shreddable, etc) and make sure her cage is LARGE (wide and deep NOT TALL).
