Two hairless boys available in northern Virginia--They've been adopted!

Two weeks ago I adopted two hairless boys from the Fairfax County Animal Services Shelter on West Ox Road. They have two lovely brothers, "Barry" and "Larry", still looking for forever homes. They are now two months old. There is no adoption fee, but a donation is nice. I'm hoping a nice human adopts them soon. I would've adopted all four, but my rental lease doesn't allow for that. I wish was closer (Tennessee here) T.T I been wanting me a hairless or two. They are so adorable! If anyone from around there happens to be coming through Tennessee do let me know. I would really appreciate the help.

My friend just got two hairless females (came into our rescue and she snatched 'em up!) who are THEE whitest hairless rats I've ever seen.  One has pink eyes, the other red.  They look like porcelain.

Anesthesia, unfortunately I believe you have to live in Fairfax County to adopt from the shelter.  I had directed a friend to the boys as well and she was told that she had to live in the county to adopt them

I called the shelter and they said that living in Fairfax was not a requirement as long as you owned your own home and brought proof.  We've made arrangements to go pick them up tomorrow!

We've been looking for baby boys for a while now and we're so excited.  I just called back just to verify with someone else that they did not require you to live in Fairfax and they do not.  They know how long we'll be driving and where we'll be taking them after adoption and everything is A-ok!  I'll definitely post pictures when we get them!  *bounces*  New babies are SO exciting!

The shelter dropped that policy a while ago, according to someone who works there. I live in Arlington County and I was allowed to adopt them.

We'd definitely post pics ASAP.  Maybe I could make myself wait til Sunday... I'd hate to bring them home and then immediately start putting the flash in their faces.    I will restrain myself!  It wouldn't be so hard if it weren't for the cuteness factor..    It gets me every time!

OoooOoo!  Names!  OMG.. Y'all are going to have to help me!  I'll post pictures and ask for name suggestions.  Start thinking!  (But not now.. Don't jinx us.. If we come up with names first, something falls through and we're not able to get them... *bites nails* .. Shh.  )

I guess it was that my friend rents/does not own her house?  I never spoke to them myself... both of my shelter boys have come from Arlington.  I'm so glad to see that they all went to fellow goosemoosers.  If Scout had not been my voice of reason I would have gone to get them last weekend, so you MUST, MUST post intro pics once you get them home.  Congrats

The shelter allows you to adopt if you rent, provided you bring your lease and it lets you have pets.

I'm so excited for you!  Still trying to get my boys to me or find some in the area if the rattie train can't get here. They need to have opposite names, like fuzzy, hairy, or chewy (as in Chewbacca), since they have no hair lol. Maybe fuzzy and wuzzy, just 'cause fuzzy wuzzy had no hair! lol. I know, cheesy, but those are my favs for hairless. lol.
