Feral.  Kitten.

He's bit me twice already, how could i say no?

I might yet end up with one of his three sisters, depending on if my neighbor can manage to probably care for three feral kittens (doubtful...).  I wanted to take two home, i thought it'd be easier for them to adjust if they were together.  But my more sensible side said i probably shouldn't unless i have to.

The adult cats were trapped (5 total) at the location, then the four kittens were found.  It was an old abondoned house.  I dont know the full story, so have no idea whats going to happen to the adults.

Name suggestions are more than welcome!

He is CUTE!  You'll have to update often with more pics, and stories about how he's handling things.  I bet he goes from biting to purrs in no time.  Smiley

As for names, I'm no good at those.  My three cats all have japanese names.   Tongue

He no longer hisses and strikes out at me when i go to pick him up, but he still ducks away.  He fell asleep with me last night and ended up waking up like "WHERE AM I!?".  His face was so dismayed/shocked/scared that i had to giggle, its like he forgot for a second what happened in the last few hours.

It hasn't even been a full day yet and i've noticed a huge improvement! Cheesy

I'm having trouble logging into photobucket, but i'll have tons of pics once i get in!

I got home from work about 45 minutes ago to the surprise of my life...

My SO: "I cooked dinner." Me: "Really now?".  Him: "Yeah, and i got you something." Me: *looking around the kitchen* "Like what??"  Him: *Big grin* "Look around, you'll see".  So i take off my shoes, walk into the living room, and see the little kitten zoom out of his "den" (a large pet porter carrier with his food, water, litter pan, and bed - so the dogs leave the stuff alone) and run behind the couch.  Then out he comes, flying like his life depended on it, and out comes another kitten, tackles him, and they start to play.  I, on the other hand, squeal in delight.  He brought home his sister.  Grin

I had been having an internal argument with myself about what to do, my neighbor called me yesterday to let me know she found a home for one of the kitties but still had two left.  She only wants to keep one.  I declined, saying i already had my hands full since i've got a full schedule of outrageous vet bills on the way.  Otis will be nuetered, the new kitten will be neutered, and my adult dog Snookie needs a dental and will also be getting his goolies stolen.  So... that was my reasoning.  When i entertained the idea of taking two kittens in the first place my SO had firmly agreed that one was enough.  However, he has fallen DESPERATELY in love with the first kitty, who we've been calling Milo.  He doesn't use the name however, its always "Wheres my kitten?"  "My kitten is being so cute." To which i always reply "Its not your kitten, its ours."  So when asked why he had the change of heart about the second kitten, he says "This ones mine, so i thought you'd like one" with a cheeky little grin.  Turd.

So yeah...  I've only been around her for 45 minutes.  She has a completely opposite personality.  "Milo" is constantly screaming, needy as all get out, mewing, feed me, refuses to drink water out of a bowl and has to be given it through a syringe, and he's outrageously playful.  He bites a little too hard, and he'll just start attacking you out of nowhere.  She seems much more calm and cuddly, and whereas "Milo" has yet to really go on a purring spree, she never stops purring.  She's almost much more "precious" and "cute".

Now that i've wrote a novel, i'm sure you're saying "Get on with the pictures already!" So here we are.

(And, i quote "Milo" because now that we have a sister i would almost like two names that go together.  We chose Milo purely because we named our puppy Otis, and thought it would be really cute to have a Milo and an Otis, a dog and a cat... you know...)

I'm trying to stay within the guidelines here, and its TOUGH!   Cheeky  These two are far too much fun to photograph.

"Milo" on the second day, still 'not so sure'.

"You's no intimimidate me!!!"

"O'tay, you do! Merrrrcy!"

The newest addition! (Anybody else see a Maine Coon resemblance in these two?)

"Hiiii goosemoosers, I's have somedin my human caws "food face"... wats dat?"

"I's made muh human make a twerrible squeawing noise when i's posed like dis"

She's stinkin' cuter than words...

The two together...

Playing with the finger..

"Gerrroofffff me, i's seepin' brodda! "

Awwww!  I'm so glad your SO went back for her!  Two kittens is twice the craziness!   They're both adorable, and I bet they're happy they have each other around while they get use to their new home.

Congrats on your new cuties!

So kewt!  Reminds me of my first cat, Dusty.

Have you guys tried papering the neighborhood for the adults?  Sometimes missing cats go for months without being found and establish themselves elsewhere.  Maybe they already have a home?

I had nothing to do with the trapping and removal of the adults.  My neighbor is my SO's cousin, and it was their Uncles friend (confused yet?) who was cleaning the house for sale.  It is positioned right next to the town post office, and the cats have been a problem for a very long time.  I used to live in an apartment on the OTHER side of the post office and we had stray cats like crazy.  They are very wild, and many are quite sick.  I do intend on finding out what they did with them, but i'm sure they took them to the APL.  What will happen from there, i would guess would be spay/nueter and release, but i don't know for certain.  Pretty much they are wild cats, breeding like crazy, getting hit on the road, and breeding some more.  Its very sad, and i'm SO glad the house is going up for sale and will no longer be a breeding ground for them.  Its mainly the barn in the back of the house, but the cats had gotten access to the basement and the kittens were found up in the foundation there.

Name suggestions: Bonnie and Clyde!

Understood about the ferals.  It's so sad how bad the situation is in some places.  The reason I asked is that it is often people assume that every member of a group of cats is feral and it turns out that some are missing pets.  Having recently lost (and found!) my cat it really made me aware of how many people "rescue"  feral cats that in reality are runaways/lost that already have a good home that is searching for them.

What cuties!! I have foster kittens of three different age groups currently! I have my mother cat with her 2 4 week old kittens, then I have Annabelle who is 10 weeks old (Her 5 siblings all found good homes), and then I have my newest addition that I got yesterday who is about 2 weeks old (Eyes barely starting to open today) who I am bottle feeding since my momma cat won't accept her.

Kittens are so much fun! I do the same thing, "Whats one more?" lol.

A little update about the kiddo's.  They've been dubbed Milo and Mia.  Smiley

They are doing great.  Total opposites in every aspect.  Mia is sweet, quiet, and extremely affectionate.  Milo is somewhat snotty, sassy, and full of energy. He screams constantly, when you pick him up it sounds like you're killing him.  You can't move your feet without him attacking them, and it HURTS. Same goes for fingers and lips too of course, and...  He's not very nice about it.   Roll Eyes

I had taken them to the vet a few days after my last post.  My boss (vet) estimated them at 4-4.5 weeks! I didn't think they were that young, but now that i look back at the pictures it is amazing how much they've "grown up", and i can see it now.  He said, yes.. they are a little bigger than the average, with a very cheesy smirk (They are pretty hefty...), but they are very young.  So now they are about 5 or 6 weeks, or something like that.  Who knows, i just know they are probably going to be pretty large cats.  I hope Milo grows out of his "demon cat" faze before he reaches 10 lbs... lol

Milo attacking a shoe.  I love the "what, i'm not doing nuffin, see how cute and innocent i am?" face.

Mia with a pretty impressive new hairdo, courtesy of the ever-talented Foxy Dog.

Milo tongue!!!

Mia passed out, hugging me, after her torturous beauty shop experience.

And Milo, being cute.  He's always cute, even when he's completely P.O.'ed Wink
