In my search for information on  the sticky Walmart litter, I stumbled on this article.  It claims that something that is basically chicken feed makes a good cat litter similar to World's Best, and is considerably cheaper.  I've never used World's Best and I know nothing about chicken feed.  Any thoughts/opinions?

Me, again Smiley  I've tried way, way too many litters from working in a clinic, we got samples of stuff alll the time.

Ruckus, tho' he's a darling, sweet cat who is terrified of rats, is very fussy about his litter pan.  If it's a "bad" texture, the litter box is to not be used.

World's Best is a "bad" texture to him.

And that's all I know.

I may check for the World's best, just to start small.  If it works, I have a feed store locally (it's where I get my lab blocks), and I bet I could get the crumbles there.  Not a bad idea, if the cats will deal with it.  Wink

I got a bag of the World's Best Litter.  I'm gonna see if the cats will use it.  If so, I'll probably try the bargain stuff.  Smiley

Most of my cats used the worlds best as kittens, and I loved it. But it was just too darn expensive to use with 6 cats. I am going to get some of these crumbles and hope for the best! I'll let everyone know how it works out Smiley

So, I've had the World's best in one litter box for 3 or 4 days.  It's getting used!  My main concern was Isis, as she's my picky one when it comes to litter box issues.  And she's using it for sure!  So, guess I'm gonna get me some crumbles!  Smiley

Could ya send Isis here to show Ruckus that it's ok to use more than a select 3 brands of litter?  Please?  Ok, thanks Smiley

Yes, only 3 are acceptable in his world.  Special Kitty, Target's brand, and Tidy Cat with the BLUE top.  Anything else is icky and he will NOT use it.

Tub o' lard, better known as Columbia, will use ANYTHING in ANY litter box.  Her first home had standard gravel mixed with fish gravel and hadn't done ANYTHING to clean the box in the 4 months they had her and she was STILL always using the box.

I could try, but she might teach Ruckus some bad habits while she's there!  LOL

The booger won't learn anything he doesn't already know.  He was scratching the sofa RIGHT beside me (literally, 2" away) so I thumped his nose and said "NO!" - that night, which a spotlessly clean litter box, he peed on the floor.  No UTI, he's healthy.  He just did it because he was MAD.

He won't let me brush him.  He bites if he feels like it.  He smacks Columbia around and won't let her eat from HER bowl.

Sigh, I love the little guy Smiley

Hey, that's Cattitude, baby!  But Isis could teach him the "lets climb on mommy and make myself comfortable while I stomp on her bladder".  Or better, "lets eat mommy's hair while she sleeps, and purr in her ear to wake her up".  Hehe

Cats are infuriating, but I couldn't live without 'em.  Smiley

Errrrrrrmmmm, he already knows those tricks.  He may teach Isis the fun of LICKING you in the ear to wake you up instead.

He HAS to be under the blankets at night with you - then he licks my toes all night long.  Amazingly enough, I've learned to sleep thru that.

Columbia honestly has NO bad habits compared to Ruckus.  She's just so sweet and loving and grateful for a good home, it's not worth being naughty.

But I love 'em both, would trade 'em for anything.
