Verdict on Solid Gold Indigo Moon?

We MIGHT be bringing home a cat tomorrow. His name is Stewie, and he's a 6 month old neutered cutie. She said he has sensitive stomach issues, and is currently on Solid Gold Indigo Moon. I've never tried Solid Gold before. I know it's good, but how's it compare to other brands? I'm not sure what other brands she's tried with him, but it's something I'll ask tomorrow.
We're currently feeding Oliver Innova Evo, but were thinking about switching. He's been stinkier than normal recently, and I wonder if the food might be part of the problem. We'd probably switch back to Chicken Soup, since he was on it successfully before, I actually can't remember why we switched in the first place. However, I want something they can both be on if we bring Stewie home. Any thoughts? I have no idea how SG compares to the other brands price wise, but I suppose I'll find out tomorrow when we go to Fetch.

I've never tried the Solid Gold cat food. I've used their dog and puppy foods with good results though

I would stick to grain free for cat food. SG is a pretty good brand sold in high end pet stores.

Solid Gold is a good food. The only thing that I have heard is it can be too rich for many dogs, maybe wouldn't be an issue for cats. It does tend to be on the pricey side compared to other premium pet foods. Indigo Moon is Solid Gold's grain free cat food so I wouldn't worry about that.

Ok, that's probably why I switched - I wanted to go grain free. Duh!
I checked prices while I was picking up a bag of the Solid Gold for the new kitty. It's cheaper than the Evo, so we'll probably wind up seeing how Oliver does, and if he does well, have them both on the Solid Gold instead of Evo.

Our one cat has stinky poo on EVO as well but the other 2 cats don't. Sometimes I think it just depends on the cat.

I switched my cats over to SG Katznflocken (I just picked that version because it's the only large bag of SG my local specialty pet food place sells) when I took in my new kitten. I switched from Wellness, because I wanted a grain-free food that was kitten and cat like you. So far, I've had good results. Overall, they seem very healthy and both of my girls, now almost 1 and almost 3, seem to love it - and they're both picky in different ways. Stinky was feral for the first 8 mos of her life and now that she's indoors will ONLY touch dry food or cat treats. Lila was feral for the first 2 months of her life and will ONLY touch dry cat food and the occasional meat treat. I tried adding a little wet food to their diet by mixing it in their dish with a little dry food. They ate around it. Little snobs.

I'm so far the only cat person who has had HIDEOUS problems with SG Indigo Moon. As in, to the point, one cat was eating 1/2 cup of dry a day plus canned and still went into fatty liver which was fatal. Major vomiting after a careful switch in any other cat. They all got really really nasty dry coats and were lethargic. None of the cats really liked the food, it was only ok - they prefered the junk known as standard Iams.
Having done more research in it now, I just am not overly happy with the food. For a grain free food, it's actually shockingly high in carbohydrates. Wellness CORE and Innova EVO both hit around 10-11% carbs. SG IM hits around 13.5 - 14% carbs. I don't really like a jump like that for a grain free diet.
Evo - zero problems on them with my mom's cats. I went raw diet with mine.
Actually, just an FYI - here SG IM and Evo are actually the same price per pound. SG IM is $10 for a 4 lb bag, Evo is $15 for a 6 lb bag - which winds up equaling $30 for 12 lbs of either food - or $2.50 per pound of food.
