Sounds like she sprained her ankle or foot, let it run it's course, in a day or so she should be putting weight on it.  If not, take her to the vet on Monday.  From what you said, it doesn't sound broken or anything.  in the meantime, keep her quiet, and put her in a cage with only one story so she doesn't have to climb around to get her food and water.

Petsmart and pPetco have some decent cages.  Petco has a Rat Manor that people have said they really like, and Petsmart has some nice cages, you can check out the rat cages at V, and the super pet ferret cages at http://www.petsmart.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=2769317&f=Taxonomy%2FPET%2F2769317&f=PAD%2FPet+Type+1%2FFerret&fbc=1&fbn=Pet+Type+1%7CFerret&fbx=0, including an FN.

Boys tend to be more mellow as they get older, but it doesn't really matter which one you get.  Girls tend to be more active, and not quite so snuggly, but I have 3 girls who sit quietly on my chest while I'm on the computer.  The personalities are something that you want to look for, and when they're young they may not have developed their true personalities.  The breeder or rescue will be able to give you more information about their personalities.  You know most of the rest of it.

As for bedding, you should be able to potty train your fur kids fairly easily.  Most people here use fleece or something like it for the floors and balconies, and bedding or litter for a litter pan.  The rats will pee everywhere, but it shouldn't be that hard to poop train them.

No clue about how long 33lb HT will last, and not had experience with Kim's Ark.  Some people have had poor results in getting emails answered, but there is another place you can get them, I don't remember where it is, but someone else will post it for you I'm sure.

Now for the breeders/rescues, this is what I've found:

Breeder- Jessica Thorn, J&J's Cozmic Starz Ratz, South Milwaukee, (414) 570-0447 or (414) 526-2154
Moma Moondancer's Rattie Rescue, Milwaukee, (414) 352-5897

You can probably ask them about other rescues and breeders in the area.

The Milwaukee Humane Society has 2 male rats right now, Tim and Babyface.  Tim is 3 mos old, and Babyface is an adult.  You can see them at http://www.wihumane.org/animals/smallanimals.aspx

I just started a book called The Host. I have only read the first chapter, but so far it seems interesting. My mom recommended it.

My sister is till hounding me to read the twilight series. I think I will hold off a little longer. It sounds like it will be perfect for when I am close to full term and don't want to go anywhere or do anything for a few days.

I know Petsmart doesn't offer free shipping to Canada anymore, but has anyone actually tried calling to see how much shipping costs to Canada?

Perhaps it would still be reasonable...

Aww thanks guys. I'm on internet I'm scavenging from someone in the building I'm staying in while here in NY, so my connection is shaky at best, but I love seeing that you all understand my Rattiemamaness. My kids are a very tight knit group, but it looks like they'll be getting a new member soon. I told Meeshski that if she couldn't get her last girl adopted, we would take her in, so it looks like we're getting a new addition when I get back!

ItalianQT - I love her belly too, and probably bug her too often to kiss it. Nekkid girl bellies are the best! Although we did worry she was pregnant when we first got her.

Keko really has gotten big. I was looking back over pictures of when we first got her and remembering how tiny she was! I can't believe my luck catching her ear flapping in the wind like that. It cracks me up.

I already miss them. I especially miss my Minkin kisses before going to bed. Hopefully I'll keep too busy to miss them too much.

The first time I ever went skiing I was at the top of the slope checking out the map to figure out which way i wanted to go down. It was nighttime so it was kinda dark except for the huge lights on the paths. The map was a huge piece of playwood held up by two large wood pillars. As I was looking at it I noticed someone had ducked behind the sign to relieve himself. The funny thing was the sign only went down to about his waist, so while I couldn't see the upperbody, I had a VERY clear view of what he was up too.  I guess he didn't realise the sign wasn't covering him, or that the lights were behind the crowd so you could see???

I have also unfortunately witnessed an ultralight airplace crash, and i was close enough to hear the pilot screaming in pain.

And one time while I was hiking in the woods I came across a rickety old lookout tower. I climbed up to the little room at the top. It was empty and half of the glass windows were broken out. At the top it was really surreal feeling. There were these HUGE fat flies all over the room. I seriously felt like I had walked into a stephen king novel. I have yet to figure out how to really get across what the experience was like.

I beg to differ guys. That mouse has the coloring of a natal, but that is a mouse. The eyes are too small and the nose too roman to be a natal. She's a broken agouti angora (which explains the crazy undercoat color). It's just your basic agouti- but doesn't it look so much prettier with the extra fuzzy coat? Smiley

Well, she does look identical to the baby soft furs I had *shrug*

I would still provide fresh drinking water (not 'spiked' with anything) for him as well.  You may be doing that already, but just wanted to point that out.

Try giving him enticing foods such as human foods... pieces of cooked meats, pasta, etc.

How does his breathing seem?  Is it noisy at all?

To be honest, in my experience, very young rats and illness often goes downhill very quickly, and often does not end well.  But if his breathing is still decent, and he is still eating/drinking somewhat then it may turn out okay.

So, ok, Link looks cute...what's going on with the guy in the tinfoil codpiece?

Have you seen Super Troopers?  It's from the scene where they're "testing" the cups.  It's tinfoil on some kind of jock strap thingy.

Yeah, that guy's a little weird...  Roll Eyes
