What lab blocks are you feeding them?  Have you tried giving them a little bit of olive oil once a week?

My rats have always had pretty shiney coats just getting lab blocks/grains/veggies, but especially in the winter I've been trying to give them some olive oil and bread mixed in to veggies once a week or so.

I am fairly new to rats, and fell for a hairless female at our local pet store, who of course needed a female friend,,, , I had posted on the classified section looking for another female, but we decided just to get one from the same pet store,,they are a mom an pop buisness in our community and I have known them for several years, so I have had her for about 2 an a half weeks, an guess what I came home to this morning,,,11 babies,,,I havent messed with them much as she is still getting used to me, but they are all very active, I can see all the milk bands, and everyone all looks all pretty much the same size,,,I will post pics when I feel more comfortable messing with them, once we figure out the boys an girls,,I  think we are gonna keep em all, the boys will go to our bedroom upstairs an the girls will continue to stay downstairs with in the computer room, course this will mean a bigger cage for the girls,,an the boys can maybe go in the girls old cage,,,with some modifications of course, so they dont wiggle out,,look for pics soon,,,steph

So this is not the most exciting question, but I was just wondering what brand of water bottle do you use for your rat cage, and where did you get it?
I ask this because I was looking on the petco website, and almost all the water bottles have reviews saying that they leak badly!

Oh my gosh I thought I was the only one that would name her rats Laverne and Shirley.  My babies both died this year but they are the girlies that got me into rats.  Even though they are gone I still feel them watching over me.

Okay now on to names before I start crying.  What ethnicity are you?  My partner chose the name of our russian blue.  My partner is Native American so she named her baby Nahimana Catori (her nick name is Nahi) meaning mystic spirit.  You might want to look up names that go along with your ethnicity.
