The ratties got some new toys...

My mom came home early from work today, since she wasn't feeling well. On her way home, she saw a sign for a garage sale; we've been on the lookout for them, hoping to find some cheap baby blankets or toys. She stopped, and she found some fun toys for the ratties.
I just started my job this week (medical transcription, so I work from home) and I couldn't wait to finish for the day so I could get the rats out to play. We recently extended their playroom out into the hall - they now also have the hall up to my bathroom door and to the entrance to the living room. We had to block off the living room with a taller box, because a certain blue boy *coughUkitakecouch* realized he could jump the other one.
We got Isane, Mia, and Portia (and Nao, but she hid the entire time) out with the big group.

Mom took the amusement park one apart, so it's not as fun for them (at least, I don't think it is). I don't think they even noticed, though

We were able to use the big box that mom brought the toys home in; they love the new house! There were other toys, but they didn't play with them as much - I'll try to come up with another set-up (like putting the amusement park back together) and see if they like it any better.

They're gettin' spoiled! First new hammocks from MMR and Chelsey's Cozies, lots of good treats, their play room was extended and now new toys! And it's not even Christmas yet I think they enjoyed having new stuff to pee on, though

Haha, they're indeed very spoiled. But there's nothing wrong with spoiling a rat.

Your black rat is beautiful!!  So dark and shiny, I love it!     Isn't it amazing how we look at everything through a rat's eyes.     Did they ask who you were buying the toys for?  I usually just say "My kids".

They were definitely happy. Usually they aren't quite as active during playtime as they were yesterday. Garage sales are great - my mom got all of those kiddie toys for $9, and she got a great box for them. Can't beat that, when stuff like that in stores probably costs 3 or 4 times that.

Paws is flattered that you think he's beautiful I think he's the darkest black berk we've had...and I think the shiny part is partly because he recently got a bath (and he's silvered, so he seems to shine more anyway).

Sometimes I think we're just as excited as (or more excited than) the rats when we get them new toys or hammocks, or something Apparently the woman did comment to my mom that "someone's going to be getting a bunch of neat toys." and my mom just agreed with her. And hey, someone did...it just wasn't a little kid

Ooooh, thanks! If we see a Dollar Tree around here, we'll have to go in. The nearest dollar store to us closed down just before we decided to check them out for baby blankets
