Title: Are ferrets right for me? (Sorry for the repeat)
Post by: ratzluver on February 02, 2008, 05:52:13 PM
I am sorry about is a repeat, but my "needs"/"likes" are different. I want a pet that loves to play and have attention. Also a pet that likes to cuddle when watching tv. Also are ferrets easily trained?

Hah! My ferrets don't have the attention span to be cuddly. They may cuddle for like 1 or 2 seconds if I'm lucky. Ferrets personalities differ so widely it's crazy. I really suggest fostering a ferret before making the 6-15 year commitment of owning one. Also I recommend being able to shell out cash like crazy for expensive surgeries shall the come up (which they will most of the time Adrenal tumors, internal blockage removals, etc)

But yes ferrets do love to play and have attention but most that I know aren't people centered. They are very independent and stubborn and no matter how many times you try to get them to poop in the corner with the litter box they will find another corner (: That being said to many people this kind of behavior is indearing and fun and adds a spice to life. Not all people enjoy pets that behave well and are predictable. This is where you find who would do well with a ferret (or two or three or more lol)
