Title: what's this called Post by: okiron on March 19, 2008, 03:06:09 AM http://trickytrixie.tripod.com/sagajills.htm
i came across this ferret breeder (who doesn't breed to the public anymore) and i just LOVE how these ferrets look. what is the coloring called on these ferrets? Title: Re: what's this called Post by: Marybelle on March 19, 2008, 10:45:30 AM I have no idea, and Google wasn't much help...
They're gorgeous, though! Title: Re: what's this called Post by: okiron on March 19, 2008, 10:50:55 AM yeah, ive tried all these ferret color charts and nothing seem to add up to these beauties.
Title: Re: what's this called Post by: dragynflye on March 19, 2008, 11:40:29 AM they're dark sables. it's uncommon to find them that dark, but that's what they are. that, right there, is actually my DREAM ferret!
Title: Re: what's this called Post by: okiron on March 19, 2008, 11:41:55 AM ooo ok thank you so much. yeah they are gorgeous. reading up on the breeder it looks like she got most of her line from sweden.
Title: Re: what's this called Post by: dragynflye on March 19, 2008, 01:12:47 PM that doesn't surprise me. MOST of the really dark sables i've seen have been from european lines.
i know right now the "trend" is towards lightly colored ferrets, and interesting markings, but to me, there is nothing more gorgeous than that glossy dark coat, and adorable dark nose! Title: Re: what's this called Post by: okiron on March 19, 2008, 02:12:03 PM we are alike then. i would love ferrets one day and would prefer a darker coat to a lighter (though the heart and ferret chooses for you more than what the head wants)
