This very heavy pregnant guniea pig i had i knew was due any day in fact i think she was little late well i was very worried about her bacause she had babies before and it didnt go so well she had a very hard delivery and needed help from me well she almost didnt survive well she wasnt suposed to get pregnant again but my boyfriend put her and the male together one day to clean the cage well i didnt know until i saw her getting fat and he told me what he did i could have killed him well now shes pregnant and i am very worried ive been checking on her a couple times every night and the last couple of nights id stay up with her til late well last night i didnt stay up with her but i got up to check on her about 5:30 well she looked ok and didnt look like she was in labor well i slept in til late today and when i got up she was buy the food bowl she still looked fat but when i touched her she streched out and i noticed she wasnt fat plus her bottom half was covered in blood and then i looked in her sleep box and saw the babies well she had 5 but 2 survived but look a little week i took the mom and cleaned her up and put her in her box with the 2 babies and i gave her some parsly witch she ate up i saw her cleaning the babies witch is a good sign ill be watching her alot  i feel like its my fought because i slept in this mourning and if i would have got up earlier i might have been able to help her and maybe more babies might have survived and maybe she wouldnt have to go through all that what happened i beleive is tthat like the last time the first baby got stuck and she spent alot of time pushing it out the last time she couldnt i had to pull it out well im hoping for the best for her well i just wanted to share my story and take some ease off the worry thankyou for reading

I have piggies too,and did the whole birth thing after the pet shop sold me a preggers piggy, one boy only just survived and was always weak he died three months old. Cry
Keep the survivors cared for and send them piggy sqeaks..thinking of you..tomorrow can only get better (touch wood!)

Samantha, it sounds like you were being very consciencious (sp), you got up early to check on her and she seemed ok.  I don't think you should be beating yourself up.  I hope things are going ok and that the two babies that survived are doing well.

As for your boyfriend, well, you can hit him over the head with whatever is close to hand! Wink
