Other girls get diamonds or flowers, but I got my Riles. Heart

I just had to show him off, I think he is perfection. Smiley He's a mitted sable and he's so sweet; I feel like we've bonded already. Riley will play and then crawl into my arms to fall asleep, and he's already walking really well on a harness.

Kurt and I actually took a road trip to get him, spending last night in a hotel with him. When we went into the pet store they had 16 ferrets to choose from, but he was the one that came bounding up to us to play. He's more like a puppy than a ferret, and he's so smart, though uncoordinated. In that picture he's fast asleep on Kurt's chest, wearing the sweater my gram knitted him. Smiley
We're off to the vet next Thursday for his first distemper shot and a checkup, and I checked and he's a Marshall ferret, he has the little tattoos. And he's going to be a big boy - we weighed him at the vet's last night and he is 1.1 lbs at age 8 weeks. Wink This will help balance out the fact that my largest rat is 300 grams.

Nice ferret, but look there!

*steals him*

Grrr...You don't understand how desperately I want to be owned by ferrets....I've been obsessed with them for over a year, and can barely stand looking at them because it depresses me,

You lucky bum. I'm going to need tons of pictures and stories to remedy my lack of a ferret.

PLEASE!

I checked and he's a Marshall ferret, he has the little tattoos.

He's very cute. Have you done research on Marshall Farms. I'd suggest you do before going around all excited that you purchased an animal that's from a breeding mill. Here's a few links for you.

Here's it's ok because it's the dogs

Labs purchase dogs/cats/ferrets

Don't like PETA, but they don't usually pick on company for no good reason

last one

Although these are a few years old, I surely would NOT purchase a Marshall Farms animal. I just thought you should know. Since I know most of do NOT support animal breeding mills...like Marshall Farms!

Riley is very cute though. I had a ferret for years, loved him to pieces. Their quite funny, sadly not allowed in CA though.

I wasn't excited, AR - just stating the facts. He has the two blue dots in his right ear = he's a Marshall Farms ferret.

Thanks everyone for your compliments, Riley is basking in them. Smiley I gave him a kiss from each of you.  I'll try to get you some cute pictures of him to "cure" you, VegetarianPetLuvr - lol.

I'm sure Sunilata did her research in Marshall Farms, along with the tons of research she did about ferrets.
And, I know that she is prepared for her ferrets health.  Smiley

Completely adorable flattycake fert!  I had a lovely sable brother/sister duo (altered)... they were my dearest chums for a lot of my university years... Still miss em (Blows kisses to Riley).  Doesn't it just make you melt when they do that weaselly hopping front back thing whilst sliding sideways and chuckling?  That never failed to lift my mood no matter HOW bad a day I was having.  Grin

I got a great valentine's day pressie too!  My husband stood out in the driving rainy/sleety crap which passes for early February weather here in Norway for hours in a queue to buy me a copy of World of Warcraft when it went on limited retail sale at 12 midnight tonight.  I tell ya.. that man's a definite keeper.  He's half frozen... but we have 2 accounts now =) (We played in the Korean and Euro betas.. and we've been looking forward to this game for years =)

If I didn't need it so much I'd trade you our little grill, and my new steam vac for your grill!

Really cute ferret.
