Hi all - I brought home an approx. 5 month old ferret from PETCO - he was up for adoption because he was too nasty to sell. Well, I have to tell you, this guy is something else! I've had 4 ferrets in my life (2 are gone) and 2 are with me now. I have never seen anything like this. This ferret will attack you and draw blood. I've seen ferrets that just are rough because they don't know how hard they bite, but this is different. This little guy means to hurt you. I've only had him for 5 days but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to turn him around. I did have him to the vet and the vet doesn't think there is anything medically wrong with him.

Any ideas?

Hey my first post but what the heck! Tongue

My suggestion is just patience some TLC and handle him ALOT with some thick gloves. He should come around when you handle him more and more with the gloves, though it might take a while. At a shelter i help out they had 8 boys who were out to draw blood and really hurt you. Almost a year later they're the sweetest boys in the shelter and my absolute favorite bunch of boys ,and all the shelter mom did was handle them alot with gloves and show she meant no harm.  Grin Hope that helps!.

That's great to hear!! I'm sure he'll be the sweetest ferret ever! Grin

LOL As long as you keep a safe litter in the litterbox and use blankets, hammocks, old t-shrts, old sweaters, ect. as bedding he'll come around to that to. Wink
