Be kind to every living thing!

Yesterday, I got everyone straight and let the ferrets out to play. I went to the store thinking all was well. When I came home a few hours later, my husband meets me at the driveway with, "We had a little incident here, but everything is okay." I immediately panic of course and ask what happened. He was outside in the garage and looked up and there was our ferret Sam, casually walking around the side of the house and into the garage! Apparently someone went out of the back door and wasn't careful about watching for escaping ferrets! Sam got out and was just taking a stroll around the yard. After I regained consciousness (just kidding) I ran in and snuggled with Sam and told him that he wasn't allowed to take walks without Mommy or Daddy! He just kind of looked at me as if to say, "What's the big deal? I wasn't lost." Ferrets! You gotta love their fearlessness! Thanks goodness all turned out okay!

boy i bet that scared the bejeezes out of you!  the latch on my front screen door is broken and i've just never gotten around to replacing it....well... that's next on my list of things to do!  the ferrets have learned that if they work together, they have enough weight to push it open!  i went to check the mail the other day and found two of them sitting on my front porch waiting for me!

scary... When we lived at our old apartment Promethius and Malecco got out once. We only knew because one of our neighbors found Prom (in their apartment!) We looked for Malecco for an hour, but couldn't find her. Then after we went inside and I started making signs, there she was, ran right into the sliding glass door. So we all went outside and managed to catch her. But at least she knew where home was. I've kept quite a close watch on all the doors from then on!!!!!!!
