Many ferret lovers, including me, have taken on the task of fostering a homeless ferret from a rescue. Before fostering a fert I didn't think much of it but I now realize all the love and effort that goes into it. When you foster a ferret you need to give the same amount of energy, money and love you would give any ferret of your own. During the time you foster the little baby (or babies) you form a bond. Somtimes a small bond, somtimes a bond stronger than you thought was ever possible. This post is to honor those people who foster ferrets and to share there stories of their foster babies of the past or present.

Well, I'll start with my favourite foster ferret, Brew.

Name:Brew
Nic Names: Brewsky, Mr. Silly, Boo
Age:3 yrs
Color:DEW
Status:Adopted!
Comments:

- Brew was quite a character! If I have 1 word to describe him, it would be *perfect*. Although he wasn't the model ferret, his unique self was perfect. Sure, he nipped, was moody and somtimes a pain in the butt, I still loved those things about him. He gave me a brilliant learning experiance. I learnt how to care for ferrets and most importantly, I learned to love ferrets.

Roll Eyes  a "foster" is how this allllllll started!

my roommate worked with a guy who had gotten a baby ferret from the petstore and then decided it was just too much effort (and too smelly).  he was going to be taken to the pound, where he would have immediately been euthanized (our pound only deals with dogs and cats, anything else is pts).  my roommate stepped in and brought him home to me.  he was in pretty sad shape.  severely underweight, sneezey, with that horrible yellowish coat you find on neglected animals that are suppose to be white.... he was previously being kept in a twenty gallon aquarium on pine.

he was SUPPOSE to be a foster, and i was SUPPOSE to nurse him back to health and find him a new home.......

he's now my big fat teddybear man....

vash's first day (after a goooood bath)

the fatman now
