RAWR!

WWW
« on: November 13, 2006, 08:12:08 PM »

Hello everyone! My name is Becca and I'm a 23 year old  from New Hampshire. I'm the owner of a one year old male silver mitt named Skipper. I was a frequent person on this forum some time back in the rat section, but ended up leaving due to some difficulties with some of the members. But having become a ferret owner has made me wander back to this site.

Anywho, Skipper lives with my boyfriend and in a ferret proofed apartment where he has free roam most of the day. I sometimes feel bad about him being an only ferret, but I really don't have the time/money to get a second ferret at this point in time. So to make up for it, Skipper is treated more like a dog then anything. He is always with us, no matter where we go, having made even the most anti-ferret people out there squeel at how adorable he is.

So yeah. Here are a bunch of pictures!

Seen enough pictures? Good! XD

If you're serious about getting Skipper a friend ( or two  Grin ) then I'd advise looking into the ferret rescues/shelters rather than getting one from a pet store.

Here is one:  http://www.ferretwise.org/

They are based in Marlborough, NH.

Good luck with your weasel. Smiley

Oh I know all about ferretwise. Great shelter and great people. Anyways, I'm not looking for another ferret. I'd love to get another, but my life prohibits that.

My life prohibits me from owning my own weasel as well, that's why I foster.  I have a 4 year old BEW jill named Avalanche.  She is absolutely hilarious and I love her to death.  She is an "unadoptable" since she is a biter, and now also getting up there in years. She's also an "only ferret" because she plays waaaay to hard and beats the bonkers out of any ferret you put her in with.  She plays like a kit and is super sweet, but you do have to watch your fingers and especially your toes.  Your pictures remind me a lot of her.  She is a cuddlebug, and and absolute spaz in one ferret.  I love your Bounce picture.  You've got him right in mid hop!  I can't wait til it's nice out again so I can take her for walks again.  Anyone that is looking for the best ferret toy ever just needs to get a good harness and leash.  Parks and gardens are the most fascinating things EVER!  There is nothing happier or funnier than a ferret in a dry leafpile.  You HAVE to try it.

I think this is the first time I've "awww!"ed at ferret pictures... especially the first yawning/stretching one. They're not my favorite type of pet, but Skipper's adorable!

I had a chance to get one when I was working at a petshop, for like... $100, only becuase the guy knew me very well, and it was just the ferret without supllies and stuff.

He is sooo handsome!  I used to have a sable ferret when I was much younger, but out of all my allergies, I am the worst with ferrets Sad so I had to rehome her.

I love ferret yawns! He's a beauty, reminds me of my ferret, BearBear. Our ferrets have been through drive-thru's, to the pet store many times, walked constantly with the kids, gone for rides, etc. They loved it, and I'm sure Skipper wouldn't have it any other way. He's he doll!
