Rodere Rattery and Rescue

I've noticed quite a bit of change in Sassy lately. She's nearly quit using her litter box and isn't up moving around a lot any more. She mostly just sleeps quietly in the upper most hammock of her 6 ft cage. I've also noticed she has had a couple bouts of diarrhea, which probably indicates stress.

We're trying to help her, as much as she'll allow. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like she'll be getting a friend as soon as we'd hoped. My boss figured out we (his wife and I) were looking for another and he threw a fit. He'd been really sick and was kinda grumpy at the time. She'll eventually get her way, but she's wanting things to die down a bit.

I'm tempted to adopt a ferret myself and bring it over to play with Sassy and then, when she can talk him into one, adopt it out to her. I just don't know if a rescue would let me do that  Worry

Does anyone know of any way we can help her aside from giving her more play time? Any help is appreciated.

Lots of treats (healthy ones, like cut up chicken pieces, other small chunks of meat, baby food, etc) will help, also give her lots and lots of cuddles.  If you can, make a pouch and carry her around with you.  I'm going through the same thing with one of my ferrets (ironically named Sassy too), I hope she pulls through!

Just my thought you could get another ferret and then ask them if they are willing to give there ferret away and they could come and visit it any time they wanted. But I think that it would be alot happier with a friend.

i'd get her checked out by a vet too.. It may be some underlying medical issue.

This thread is dead lol Sassy found a home months ago. And my boss and his wife owned her at the time the post was made. And he was a vet

She is now living happily in OH with a male ferret I believe is named Sampson.
