need some feedback (please read)

I have 3 ferrets currently

Recently I was contacted by someone who has to find a new home for the 4 ferrets they have. I know they are exceptionally well cared for, it isn't someone who lost interest in them. I have already verified their vet care.

Is there anyone that can talk to me about having & caring for 7 ferrets? I mean is this a ridiculous idea to even attempt?

I've done intros with adding 1 ferret to an already established den but to attempt to bring in 4 to a home with 3... can it/has it been done?

First off, I only have three and they seem to love eachothers company. I did for a short time only have Lugh and Gidgett and rescued a ferret from near death from my aunt that had never been socialized and always lived alone and I just made everyone unhappy when I tried to intro (this was a few years back so I suspect I could of been better at the intro than I am now). But this guy had really never socialised even with people and it was a sad thing to see. I loved him, but he wasn't fitting into our family and he was saved from near starvation at my aunts so I took him to our wonderful no kill ferret shelter to be adopted out as a single ferret home type of ferret.

When I introed Spazz a year or so later, Gidgett and Lugh took to her readily and happily as she added the spunk to their social life they needed (and still does, she's quite a personality) I think this was because she is a very loving outgoing ferret that helps them play and stay young and introduced them to new more ferret like concepts (Gidgett and Lugh have always been on the unusually calm and well behaved side... for ferrets and Spazz has always been on the hyperactive adrenaline junky side of ferret personality).

So I guess what I'm getting at is it really depends on the ferrets personalities. Also you want to consider cost, amount of poop you will have to clean up, and your own personal chaos threshold. I've known the ferret shelter had 40 ferrets free ranging her house at times (the ones that got along). and I've known of people in other forums that have owned 15+. I personally have a hard time keeping up with three lol.

So just take some time to think about it. I hope others will chime in on proper introduction. I think that you just have to assess personalities and judge whether or not this will be beneficial to your ferrets as well as beneficial to you and the ferrets you are taking in.

Hope someone experienced in more than 5 ferrets will chime in lol.

I decided against the adoption. I was worried that I would have problems with intros.

I know I can handle the expense, the mess & the chaos. That isn't my concern. My fear is that with an established group of 3 & an established group of 4 that I may not be able to get all 7 together.
