Fostering Ferrets.
«

I am going to foster a pair of ferrets, I was just wondering how "easy" they can be adopted out. I can keep them until they get adopted, I was looking for a ball park figure on how long it might take.
Thanks for any info.

That's really dependent on your individual situation. It make take longer if your foster bunch are in bad condition and need some food and lovin' to get back their strength, or if they need some socialization and behavioral work such as working on not nipping, or if you don't have a lot of adoption resources available. Baby ferrets are sometimes easier to adopt, but not if they're bitey. Older ferrets tend to be better behaved, but can be harder to adopt if they have medical problems. The ferret shelter I work with has high turnover and I hardly recognize any ferrets and I visit every month or two usually. I believe we adopted out over 200 ferrets last year. My ferret was from that shelter and she sat there for 2 years because she bit people and beat up other ferrets.
