I went to the PA faire a few years back when I lived there with my ex. It was AWESOME! They picked my ex to go up to the mud pit and wrestle with the guys! lol. It was hilarious. I want to go to one again but I have yet to look and see when and where it is here in Kentucky.
I need to go to the mud pit this weekend. I've never seen it before. There's a lot of things that I haven't seen yet.
This weekend's Love and Romance Weekend.

I don't know what they do at the mud pit in PA, but our guys interpret classic stories. LOL!

Beowulf... IN THE MUD!
Don Quixote... IN THE MUD!

It's friggin' hilarious. Grin

We just got back a few hours ago. As usual, it was AWESOME. My daughter got hypnotized, and that was really cool. I wanted to check out the dark curly hair guy at the reiki booth on the chess hill, but we ran out of time. (My daughter and I like good energy and we just wanted to investigate...LOL) You know, you can get a free ticket if you give blood there this weekend. It's awesome, and everyone should go at least once!!!! Grin

May I ask in this thread if anyone has been to the Maryland Renn Fest?  I've been to the PA Faire once, but since I live in Baltimore, I've been to the Maryland one far more often.  The Renn Fest season coincides with my birthday, so I usually celebrate there with my family or friends.  They really are a lot of fun!

I'm not sure how many of the acts at the MD Fest are also found at other faires, but I recommend The London Broil to anyone who likes juggling and/or comedy.

I think the best thing at these types of events, though, has got to be the food.  There is so much variety at our fest, and for the most part it's really good!  Turkey legs, of course, but also amongst my favorites are Steak on a Stake, corn on the cob, warm cookies and milk, soup in a bread bowl, and blackberry cobbler.  What does everyone here like to eat at their Renn Fests?

...daggers, and my pride is a Starfire double bladed axe.

Are you actually allowed to bring those into the faire? Ours doesn't allow weapons of any kind.

I stand corrected. New owners, new rules... Peace tied weapons are now allowed.

Interestingly, Security and First Aid people are no longer in garb, and Security is armed. With guns. That was weird. But, I guess if you're gonna let weapons in, even peace tied, you need to show they're not messing around.

We had a great time yesterday, but I am EXHAUSTED. I'll get my pictures sorted and posted somewhere this week. Smiley

I go to the Maryland one. I linked the website on the first page of this thread. Smiley  My favorite foods there are steak on a stake and scotch eggs. MMMmmmm

I went yesterday and had a lot fun. I got in for free for attempting to give blood...but I passed out because it was hot and the nurse testing my iron took too long! The blood beaded on my finger and she whiped it off and started squeezing my fingure for more blood!
I got a free dragon puppet. Got hypnotized in which at one point I started to cry because "big fishy went bye bye".  I was so impressed with him that I bought one of his weight loss CDs. I think that visit was the best visit to there I've had, aside from people wooing my friend left and right (the popcorn vendor was wooing her and I said 'That's right you distracted him I'll steal the popcorn cart'). My friend and I were being so silly and passed a vendor selling Italian Ice and asked a burning question, "Does the Italian come with the ice or is he sold seperatly?" It took the vendor a few seconds to reply. "I think it's mixed in." "Ah, so that's why it's red. You cut the Italian up and put him in."
