everyone told me when I wanted a rat that it would smell really bad but then I got one and she doesnt smell at all. but do ferrets really smell.

Yes, ferrets can be a bit musky, even after being descented. It's part of their natural skin oils. As with any animal, it's something you'd get used to over time. (We has 11)

Some people find it unpleasant, some people find it tolerable, and some love it! A with any scent, there are a lot of differing reactions.

Best bet is to make friends with a ferret owner, or go to a rescue... and let your nose decide. (Don't do this at a store, as the weasels there will smell more of the type of bedding/food used. The bedding seems to get a bit noisome after its been used.)

When ever me and my dad walk into a pet store he always says it says like ferrets and he has to cover his nose and stuff. but I dont think it smells bad. it just smells like a mix of animals.
