i came across this ferret breeder (who doesn't breed to the public anymore) and i just LOVE how these ferrets look. what is the coloring called on these ferrets?

they're dark sables. it's uncommon to find them that dark, but that's what they are. that, right there, is actually my DREAM ferret!

that doesn't surprise me. MOST of the really dark sables i've seen have been from european lines.
i know right now the "trend" is towards lightly colored ferrets, and interesting markings, but to me, there is nothing more gorgeous than that glossy dark coat, and adorable dark nose!

we are alike then. i would love ferrets one day and would prefer a darker coat to a lighter (though the heart and ferret chooses for you more than what the head wants)
