Of course my first instinct was to order a FN 142, which is most likely the way I will go- but...

Does anyone have the Marshall Ferret Penthouse? I'm interested in the details of it- like if the plastic floors hold up under ferret weight and how large the door openings are?

I have kids & I'm worried about the doors on the FN, esp. the upper level, being opened & our not-too-graceful boy tumbling out. So the doors on the Marshall may be a good thing- except if they are too small. On the cage our fuzzies are in now I have to lift off the entire cage fom the pan in order to clean the lower litter box & put igloos in and out. I don't want to have to deal with that anymore!

What are the major differences between the FN 142 & a Feisty Ferret? They seem pretty similar in photos, although the FN looks a bit sturdier. The price difference on ferret.com isn't so much that I want to settle for a FF if the FN142 is A LOT better.

I have seen that cage it is super flimsy i would be uncomfortable even putting my rats in it let alone a ferret. Plus i wouldnt want to support marshall as they run ferret mills. I love the doors on the fn's I have two fn 142's and have never had a problem. If your worried about him falling out when you open the doors only open one side or just open the doors on the bottom and take him out from there. I use my cages for rats and have never had an accident and they bull rush the the doors when I open them. From when i saw the ff next to the fn at the store i was less than impressed by the ff. It doesnt feel near as sturdy as the fn. And also the upper floor doesnt come with a solid pan like the fns. Also if you havent looked into it Martinscages.com they have really nice ferret cages as well and they dont have doors like the fn and ff which are almost the same when it comes to the doors.

I love my FN. Possibly the best purchase I ever made. It's roomy, large doors are nice, very easy to clean, and you can take the stand part off and have the cage sit directly on the floor if you want. Really if you get an FN, you'll never have to get another cage.

I've found that many of the Marshall's cages are sooooo hard to clean, and their doors are super small.
