RIP My Snoopy...

« on: July 13, 2008, 09:21:31 AM »

Alright...Who's got it? How long did you wait in line for it? Tips? Tricks? Fun things you found? Great Apps?

I got mine on Friday when it came out. Paid for it myself. Cheesy Waited three hours in line and got it 15 minutes before the Apple store closed. I read all kinds of things in the news about people having problems syncing and activating, but I didn't have any sort of problem. I have a MacBook too, and everything synced effortlessly. I love how I just plugged it in and it synced my iCalendar, my music and I didn't have to sit there poking in all my contacts, I typed them into the computer and synced it all up.

Microsoft seems to have issues with things like that Tongue

A lot of people are less than impressed by it, but if you think about it, a lot of this technology has been around for a while. The neat part is now its in the palm of your hand. Bwaha. The GPS is the best part. I am very easily amused. When you type in something to search for, it drops a bunch of little pins and all you have to do it touch one and it shows you the phone number, website, address. Its really useful. I have an App on mine already to find the nearest coffeeshop. Haha. Cheesy

Anyone else has impressed and thrilled as I?

Well, I just get the free phone that comes with the contract! The phone I have now is the first one that has a camera... As long as it makes and recieves calls, I'm happy.

Congrats on your new iPhone!  (I had thought I was going to get one, but decided to stay with Sprint and I chose the new Instinct, which I really like).

Congrats on your new iPhone!  (I had thought I was going to get one, but decided to stay with Sprint and I chose the new Instinct, which I really like).
When I upgrade my phone, that's the one I'd go with over anything else. I've alway been incredibly happy with Samsung phones (I have the Upstage right now - it's lasted a year and a half with me!!!), so I feel more comfortable using them.

My dad has an iPhone and even though I'm a techie-type person, I couldn't figure out a way to send myself a picture off of his phone via MMS, via bluetooth, anything. It was SUCH a pain.

Copy and paste doesn't have to do with sending messages.

The iPhone is like a mini computer. Computers can copy and paste. You copy text and paste it somewhere else....this is an incredibly basic function. The iPhone cannot and I have had a client NOT buy the iPhone JUST because of this. She needed to copy text from the web browser into another application and it cannot.

I couldn't tell if your statement was related to mine or not; that's where I got confused.

It just seems like the simplest functions aren't simple on this phone and that's one of the biggest factors in why I wouldn't get one. I'm sure it gets easier once you get used to the phone and really iron out the quirks, but I'm not patient enough for that.

The ONLY reason my dad got one is cause the numbers were big and his vision isn't what it used to be.

I upgraded my cell phone 6 months ago because I washed my husband's, and they had a pretty pink one I had to have.  I actually have a color display now, and it takes pictures!  I pay $19.99 a month for my plan, why in the world would I upgrade to an iPhone??

And if you didn't buy the phone yourself, who would have?  Do you have a Sugar Daddy or something??  If so, can I have him too??

In my neighboorhood, "Mommy and Daddy" usually buy everything. Its unusual someone my age would have a full time job, pay her own insurance, car payments, cell phone bill, credit cards, student loans and a phone bill...and still be able to pay for her own $400 phone.

As for the service, I work for AT&T so I get a discount on service. I love my iPhone because I love Apple products and their sleek, innovative design. This thread wasn't meant to start arguments Tongue
