Don't breed or buy while shelter animals die.
This is why we can't have nice things!

The cube was under 24 hours old, when I spotted Emma and Maddie "disappearing" into it...
Em says, "Isn't it great what we've done to this cube? Aren't I just adorable popping out like this?"
"Did I make a hole here?" No, not yet Maddie
Squeeeeezzeeee...
How can I stay mad when Maddie gives me upside-down kisses?
Emma joins in too, to apologize I'm sure

Haha! My trio has a horrible habit of chewing holes into all fabric
They love the little space between layers.

My girls ruined the cube I made in hours too...only mine had nice foam support sides in it that I thought would slow the destruction process down. Instead, they somehow removed the entire foam square and carried it away, simply chewing through the thread and leaving the fleece untouched. They made a flap out of my beautiful cube wall! How do they do these things?

But the cube looks nice now
They can burrow between the layers.... Special rat cubes - start marketing those....

Em looks VERY pleased with herself in the second picture, she has a bit of a devilish look in her eyes!! LOL. I am so lucky that my boys do not chew any of their hammocks, thankfully. A cardboard box will even last from one cleaning to the next without being completely destroyed. a paper towel roll or a toilet paper roll on the other hand are usually toast within 5 minutes of being put in with them. I usually find the cardboard pieces in the hammie underneath all of them, as for extra padding or something

How adorable. My boys don't chew fabric all that much. One of my boys goes nuts over cardboard though.

Thank you for posting that!! I always look at the pictures of your cage with such envy...not a single sign of "rattie lace." I was thinking maybe my rats were telling me that my hammocks and cubes weren't up to standard and that's why they chew them to bits. But since your cubes and hammocks are awesome and they still get mangled, maybe my rats really aren't trying to tell me something...lol....

I'd chew through that cube myself for some of those upside-down rattie kisses
