I would say off to the left side. An eyebrow piercing would be neat too...

i would say in the middle if you get one but if you get two you could get them on the sides, but that is just me. i cant just have once lip piercing on one side it with bother me so i would have to have one on the other side or you could always get your nose, eyebrow or septum pierced.

I'm a piercing addict! Hah...I've had my monroe pierced a couple of times, and I absolutely ADORED it! It's techincally the same piercing as a lip piercing (AKA a Labret piercing) Just up top, where Maralyn Monroe had her beauty mark...I think it's a very pretty piercing. Sometimes it's called a Crawford piercing as well!
I was SOSOSO SAD when I had to take it out for my Childhood Education classes
Good luck with your choice! I'd love to see pictures!

I've had several lip piercings (Still have one but may take it out soon.)
On the side of the mouth, it's not bad. I had a ring in mine, and it gets in the way a bit. It's weird getting used to, but it didn't really hurt and healed really easily. In the middle, I wouldn't recommend a ring. A labret is further down then a lip ring, but a lip ring will get in a lot of contact with your teeth. I used to have a labret, and it hurt even less the the side-lip, and never really got in the way.
I took it out to get a vertical labret, which is basically a curved barbell through your lip. (So one ball is on top, and one on the bottom of your lip.) That one was a little unpleasant, but I like it. It gets in the way sometimes, but doesn't come in contact at all with my teeth as it's not technically inside the mouth. I still have it, but I'm getting sick of it getting caught on clothes all the time and I may take it out so I can find a job easier.
I'd lean towards on the side the most, as it comes in the least amount of contact with your teeth that way. Even the labret can rub on the inside and end up messing with your gums (especially if your piercer isn't great.) and chipping a tooth on jewelry isn't fun.
I've thought about taking all mine out but my nostril and getting a monroe, but I really don't want to repierce anything so I'm waiting until I'm sick of the ones I have.

I love the lip piercings off to the side. It's all about personal preference.
Post a pic when you get it
I wish I had gotten a lip piercing when I was younger- my mom would've disowned me but whatever

I have a labret peircing and I love it
. I'm thinking about getting snake bites as well but I'd have to wear fangs in those to go with my labret one properly. It would look good but the £50+ that it costs is not possible for me right now. I love getting peirced but I only trust one person to do them all
. The peircer is as important as the peircing that you want.

I have a labret... right in the middle. I always keep a tiny little diamond in it and get a lot of compliments.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE having two studs off to one side of your lip, like two right next to each other but not snake bites. I think that's the best looking piercing. I wish I could get that done, but then I'd have a random hole and I'm way too OCD to only have one side done.

I've had it going on 9 years now. Never got tired of it. I'd feel naked without it.

I'd jump on it and get the snake bites all in one day. The pain is quick and they will heal together. Plus, if you are slightly OCD...like me....having one piercing on the side of your lip and not the other will drive you insane
.
ETA: these are snake bites for those who are wondering what the heck they are

I also use to have the snake bites back in the day. One of them got infected and no matter what I did, it wouldn't go away, so I just took them both out.

Mannn, this thread makes me want to get a new piercing!
I would LOVE to have my Monroe pierced again, or just a lip piercing in general...but I'm sure there aren't many people going into Childhood Special Education with facial piercings v.v

Is there a certain side that you are supposed to do, like how guys are only supposed to get one side of their ears pierced?
I have always wanted my eyebrow myself. I have a navel one but I gained weight and took it out.

No, there's no certain side for anything (including ears for guys, unless thee's only one). There's no unwritten rule or anything. Say you have an eyebrow pierced, I would get the opposite side of the lip done, just to even things out a bit. But other then that, it wouldn't matter at all.

No suggestions for placement, but check out

I have a cool story, but a little off topic.I wanted to know if any of you other piercing collectors thought this was just too cool.
I had my nipple pierced for about 4 years. Then I had kids, and took it out so that I could breastfeed. So I breast fed for about 5 years.A few days ago, after about a year of not breastfeeding,I was really missing having piercings(I was actually thinking about getting my lip pierced)and I thought,"I wonder if my nipple is closed up yet".So I got out a piece of jewelry and just tried, figuring there was no way it would go in after 6 YEARS.It went right in!I was totally flabergasted. Now I'm super happy.I could never have gone through the pain of it again!Owie!Does anyone else think that it's crazy that it didn't grow over in that long?I did have it stretched up to a 6.
Sorry for the major hijack,I just really found that bizarre, and wanted to share with someone who really likes piercings.Mu husband wasn't too amazed.Maybe it really is more common for that to happen,I don't know.
And,my suggestion is:
Center of your bottom lip,but not like a labret.Going straight through your lip vertically(not your skin)and you wear a barbell where you can see the ball in between your lips and right below. My ex had his like that, except he had one on each side of his mouth, like the snakebites are.Did that make any sense?Sorry,it's ,my husband is sittin late!
Afineohilim,I used to have my septum done, and I agree with you!Worst. pain. ever.
Undergunfire,my husband is sitting next to me,and he was really excited to see your picture! :cheeky:But,you really are beautiful! And,I love your piercings and that cool tattoo!

The one going vertically through the lip is a vertical labret. A lot of people are getting those because it has no contact with the teeth or gums.
I've had my labret done twice and my tongue, and really at this point I want to stay away from piercings that rub my teeth or gums. I guess my tongue wasn't too bad because it really didn't touch anything in my mouth except the roof and the fleshy part under the tongue. I took that out about 2 years ago because I felt like I was too old for it for some reason.
Rowan you could probably get a piece of jewelery back into your nipple because it was stretched. Everyone is different and your's probably didn't close completely shut. Did you have to apply a lot of pressure to get it through?

Along with what pinkie said...
I have a tongue ring, navel ring, and labret diamond stud. I'm 21, will be 22 in August. I've had the tongue since 15, navel since 17, and labret since 18. When will I be too old for the piercings?
Not really trying to hijack, but Chelsea and I are in the same age range... just curious

I don't think there is any age.
I took mine out because I decided that I didn't want it anymore. I had it for a couple of years and it wasn't a big deal for me to take it out. No one told me to take it out, it didn't affect my job in anyway, I just decided that I had it for a long time and it was time to move on. Piercings are a personal preference. IMO no one can tell you what to have and what not to have (unless you're under 18). Even if you have a job that says no piercings and you want one bad enough there is ways to still have the piercing and keep it hidden.
