Hey!!  I am 14 weeks along and I am due Dec. 31st.  Everything is going really well, after my little scare last week  Shocked 2   Not sure what we are having yet, but I am thinking a girl.  This pregnancy is totally different than when I was pregnant with my son.  Morning sickness has eased...YAY!!!  I am dealing with some light headed spells right now, so I have to be careful standing up sometimes.  I can't feel any movement yet, I didn't feel anything with my son until I was 5 months along or so, and it was the best feeling ever, I really missed it after he was born.  We are actually out looking for another house/apartment now because our place is just way to small.  We found one today that we are excited about.  The rent is actually the same as we are paying now and the place is bigger and has 3 bedrooms.  We want to move earlier than later because I don't want to put too much change on my 4 year old all at one time.  It's going to be a big adjustment when the baby comes as it is.  We are breaking our lease early because that is not due up until November and I think that would be way too much all at once for everyone.

I guess I rambled on enough...LOL

I have given my info in another thread, but since this is an "official" thread I will give it again.

I will be 13 weeks on Saturday. My due date in January 9th. I am feeling better mostly but my headaches are killing and me and so far nothing helps. My breasts are also really really really sore. And I am irritable.  help

I was having some moments of almost panic convincing myself I wasn't pregnant anymore, but after hearing the heart beat again at my visit on Monday I am feeling much more calm. Until of course I think about all of the things I still need to do, like decide about my job and make a baby room and declutter my house.

Hubby and I are definitely going to have another. We want them to be about 2 years apart, so we will try again when this little bugger is a little over a year old.

We already have a 4 year old and now this one is on the way.  I am also no spring chicken anymore at 36 years old, so I think this will be out last.  I am just hoping for a girl, so we can have 1 of each, I think that would be great!!!

I like how our due dates are all off by a week of each other, pretty cool.

aw, I am so happy for you.  I can't wait to find out what we are having!!  When I was pregnant with my son, we went in for the ultrasound.  The technician was just doing the normal measurements and things like that and I could tell very early on in the ultrasound that it was boy.  He was not hiding the fact...LOL.  So when she finally asked if we wanted to know and of course we said yes, the baby actually moved and opened his legs so we could see in fact that we were right all along and he was indeed a boy.

I am going to do the 4D ultrasound as well for this one, but we are going to wait until I am closer to 24 or 25 weeks along.  I have my next doctors appointment tomorrow.  I am so happy that my hubby will actually get to hear the heartbeat for the first time.  When I had my scare a few weeks back, he was not allowed with me when they did the ultrasound, so he didn't get to hear the heartbeat or see the baby.  I felt so bad for him.

The u/s tech told me that it's best to do the 4D ultrasound after 27 weeks.  The baby looks more "babylike" and less alien-like.  I have one of Bean at 20 weeks, and another at 39.5 weeks.  We waited until birth and my husband said "It's a boy, he's a boy!  Edamame is a boy!"  I thought it was really exciting to wait until the end.

Oh, the ultra sound is so exciting. I can't wait until our next one, but that will be about 2 months from now.

i am currently sick.  Puppy Dog Eyes: I feel miserable, but I drug myself into work today because i feel guilty missing to much work. Of course I am not getting much done between blowing my nose, coughing and just feeling horrid. I miss being able to take the drugs that make it all go away, but I can hardly take anything and nothing has helped. Not to mention I have lost a couple of pounds and at my last Dr. visit she was pretty stern about telling me at this point I should be gaining about a pound a week. To be on target for our next visit I will have to gain 6 pounds in the next three weeks.   Shocked

So you're in the last trimester already to be gaining a pound a week???

I didn't gain anything until 20 weeks.  And even over Christmas holidays, at 27ish weeks, I only gained 1 lb that entire month.  I still gained 23 lbs by the time I delivered.

I wouldn't stress out about 1 lb a week now, unless you're severely underweight.

I am definitely not underweight, but my doctor said she wants me to gain between 25 and 30 pounds. She also said that she would rather me do it slowly over the course of the pregnancy, so that would mean gaining a pound a week here on out. The book "what to expect when you're expecting" also has the same guidelines. She didn't mention that she wouldn't be worried about my weight until the last trimester, but she wanted me to really make sure I was eating enough.

My OB said as long as I was eating well and exercising, my body would gain what it needed, when it needed it.  The ONLY time I got grilled on my eating was the 1 lb over Christmas.  He said many patients came in with 10+ gains!  So he always gave a "freebie" 5 lbs over the holidays.  I offset that the next month by gaining 7 lbs!  By the end, it was still 23 lbs, and the delivering OB asked me how much I gained, I said "23 lbs" he said "That is perfect!  How'd you do it??"

If your body will want to gain more in the 3rd trimester, you'll regret deliberately gaining weight now!  But, that's just based on my experience - my body knew what to do.

I have lost 7lbs so far and my doctor isn't worried.  He said the weight gain will come.  In my last pregnancy with my son, I only gained 10lbs.  In the last trimester they wanted me to start gaining more weight and I did try, but that was about all I heard of my weight gain.  You just have to make sure you are eating healthy and taking the vitamins, that is really what is important for you and the baby.  At this point (15 weeks) I am constantly feeling hungry, but when I start eating I get full so easily.  So I have been eating small amounts throughout the day of healthier foods.  My baby is growing and the heartbeat is nice and strong, so I am not worried about the weight loss at this point. I spent the first trimester sick and this trimester so far my appetite isn't quite there.  I'll be honest, my belly is getting big and my clothes don't fit now, I really thought I was going to gain a ton at my Dr.'s visit on Tuesday, just to find out I lost more.

I love the book "What to Expect When Your Expecting", It's a great guideline, but it certainly was not completely accurate for my pregnancy with my son and so far this pregnancy is COMPLETELY different than the last.

When I was pregnant with my boy,I was worried about him being really small, because I had a 2 vessel umbilical cord(supposed to be 3),and a partial placental abruption..I was gaining weight just fine, but the nutrients just weren't getting to him.Just because you gain weight, doesn't mean that your baby is,and the same if you are losing weight.

I read something about how eating fish increases your blood supply.I really don't remember the specifics of it,but,it said that eating 1/3 of a can of tuna a day was the recommended amount of fish, and that that much wouldn't have too much mercury or anything. So,I ate that much every day for the last 4 months or so of my pregnancy, and I really believe it helped out!My boy weighed 5 lbs 4 ozs at birth, and he was a month and a half premature, not to mention the 2 vessel cord and a partial placental abruption. My dr. thought that it helped with his weight gain.

Just thought that yall may want to discuss trying this with your doctors!Hope it helps!

My daughter was huge..9lbs 13oz...far and away the biggest newborn in my family or his family, and I weighed less the day I went to the hospital to have her than the day I had my confirmation test at the dr.s office. I was so sick the first six months of my pregnancy that I lost tons of weight, and I got put on bedrest and they threatened to admit me to the hospital and put me on a feeding tube...of course, when you're a recovering bulimic no one ever believes that weight loss in unintentional.

I like being surprised, and if I ever had another one (highly unlikely given my health and the age of my daughter) I wouldn't find out.  Everyone wanted me to find out, but since I knew the day I knew I was pregnant that it was a girl, I didn't see any point in having confirmation...after all, it wasn't like I went out and got things engraved with her name or bought all pink stuff...I prepared the way anyone who doesn't know prepares...I just knew in my heart that she was a girl.  I didn't even bother coming up with a boy's name until my ninth month and then only because everyone was nagging me.  I think it's fun to not know.
