I am quite confident my little tart Shenanigans is pregnant and in my earnest search to find homes for all potential bubs I would like to start by gauging interest. This is mum:

Honestly I am a new rat mum and the bubs could be here anytime between now and the 20th at the latest, though my gut tells me it will be soon. Once I have a headcount, I will update again.

Edit: To note, this was not a planned litter. Girly must have eloped before I got her as I have no males.

Happy birthday to this litter! The present headcount sits at 15, which as I'm sure you all know is a lot of homes to find. No colors yet, no sexes, but momma is very tired and all seem to be doing well so far. Who wants to take one home with them?

Daddy is a large Russian Blue Agouti Dumbo, I believe... so these ought to be some pretty freaking cute bubs

Good luck finding homes Wink  We had 15 but lost one at 2 days.  The other 14 did great though.  I think I found home for them all now.  They are leaving this weekend.  Good luck again!  You are going to have fun with these babies.  It goes really fast though Undecided

Here is a picture of Poppa.  The "hair spike" is that he is in the process of loosing weight to be able to clean his whole face soon.  He's a lovey squish and a VERY LARGE BOY.  Tons of love in this boy and super mellow.

The story of how these two got together is a mystery to me as Shen's previous owner.  I was in a motorcycle accident (cracked rib, dislocated shoulder, double vision) and hired a teenage girl to help out who had years of caring for rats. Thanks to guardiantrinity for being a gracious new owner.

Well, I know I'm keeping 1-2 girls myself. I figure I'll pick one, then take one of the "leftovers" (if there are any-- hopefully everyone finds a new home!)

I can't quite tell all of them apart yet, but it's getting close. People are more than welcome to voice interest in the litter itself now, then perhaps choose specific bubs after their eyes are opened. Hopefully I should be able to keep track of who is going where then. In a perfect world, everyone would stop in on the 16th and choose their new kids in person, but I've got interest in Missouri and New York if I can get rat trains set up.

Sound alright? (aka- Is there a better way to go about doing it? lol)

You can start taking reservations when colors/markings/genders show if you want. I like doing that early so I'll know how many, and which ones are still in need of homes.
You can always keep track by writing down Person's name wants color/marking gender baby.

Blue cap is a girly, however the darkest bub is a boy, the next two are a boy and a girl (the boy is Denten, already spoken for). The next lightest ones I believe are also boys Grin

Phew!  I dodged a bullet on the blue cap.  xD  (I'm trying to avoid more girls, but have ample space for boys. >.>;; )

But there is a dark boy?  Ohboy.  You shouldn't tell me that, you'll have me wanting him.   Yellow Cute Laugh

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y122/guardiantrinity/Rats/12Day7.jpg <- In that picture, what is the brownish/reddish baby? The one with the head nestled between the fawn and dark baby's butts?

<.< I know you're not taking reservations based on color yet though.  Whereabouts in IL are you located in?  (We're in Rockford)  Ever since these babies were born the same day I lost mine I've been curious on them.

WOWSERZ!  Would love a girl that would look "different" than Lucinna, Shine, and Seranade.  Would love an "orangy" fawn girl to join the group!  If the fawn self is female, please put me in the queue when requests open up!

Have two working hands these days!   Grin

Y'know, I think I'd be quite foolish not to open specific reservations now. You guys have high interest in the litter and I want the best for them. However, you guys are going to have to help me out-- if you can tell me which one in the picture you are fond of, I can correspond most of them to the "real live" ratty, hehee. However, saying self agouti dumbo doesn't help me yet-- still too new in the rat color business. (But willing to learn!) I will start numbering them when I post pictures.

Ratty_Pack, would you mind if I used your adoption screening questionnaire? It seems pretty sound and covers all bases. Also, which one do you mean? In the second picture (in my most recent group of snaps) I think you mean one of the three in the bottom left corner. I am pretty sure the one sandwhiched between the other two is a girl-- not sure about the other two though.

So yes... long story short? Adoption Reservations are now open.

Help yourself to the application.....

Here is the one I'm hoping is a girl....  Fingers and tails crossed.  I'm forever admiring a similar beautiful boy in our ooops litter with similar markings.  Yet, I think it is high time to stay away from non-fixed males!

Can't get over how gorgeous and varied the litter is!!  Amazing!

Unfortunately I am pretty sure that little bugger is a boy as well =(

I am having the roomie help me hold them tonight for proper sexing.

Quick question-- I have heard of folks who mark rat tails using sharpies (specifically pews). Is it safe to do it to these guys at this age? They will be 2 weeks old on Thursday.

Forgot to mention-- adoption fee is $10 for a single bub, $15 if you're adopting a pair, $20 for a trio.
