I have a 2 month old girl named Lily that is noticibly gaining weight over the last three days since shes been taking antibiotics. Lilys cagemate Lucy died recently so the vet put Lily on antibiotics. Ever since she has been taking the medicine she seems to be gaining a lot of weight. Is this normal with antibiotics?

Weight gain isn't normal with antibiotics.  Have you been able to weigh her?  How much weight has she gained?

Antibiotics wont cause weight gain...You said she's two months old...how long ago did you get her? Is it possible that she could be pregnant?

It's also possible she was underweight because she was ill - and now that she's feeling better she's eating to catch up. Do you think she was underweight before she started the antibiotics?

She may also be having a reaction to the medication. You might want to call your vet to see what he/she thinks.
