Grin Hello everyone I'm Terra and I run a mousery in San Antonio Texas. I was wondering if anyone else runs a mousery in texas near or in San Antonio. Also if you have a mouse or rat who needs a new home I run a small rat and mouse rescue that rehomes mice and rats.

Your website is cool!
I live in Ireland, and apart from me there is only one other proper mouse breeder here! Well, I don't really count as one yet, as I just bought a breeding trio at the Bradford excel show '08, held on the 26 and 27 of January. I now have a satin blue point siamese buck, a satin blue point doe, and a satin seal point siamese doe.
Previously, I had bought a seal point siamese (normal coated) doe as a pet. I am wondering, should I bring her into the lines? She has a moult mark on her back, making her unsuitable for the show bench. The other three carry the normal coat gene, and the two does are out of normal coated dams, I don't know about the buck. Apparenty (I'm still new at this) the satin gene is dominent?
Any ideas?  Ratty Smiley

A self is an animal (in this case, a mouse or rodent) which is one colour all ove. That means it will havno markings, such as spots or shadings. It is one, hopefully if your showing it, even colour all over, not getting darker or lighter in any place. Like an all black mouse, or an all blue one.

Satin is Recessive.
Both parents to carry satin or be satin themselves in order to get satins in a litter.

Satins have been linked to an immune disorder which makes it harder for them to fight off viruses and tumors. This does not mean that satin mice *are* going to catch viruses and get tumors. It means that they are more susceptible to such things.
