I'm considering getting some mice soon and I was wondering about diet. I've had good experiences with Harland Teklad products and will likely use them as the staple of the diet, but I'm not sure which variety is better for mice, the 4% or 6% protein formula. I'm probably going to end up with a trio of does and there will be no breeding, if that makes a difference.

When I had mice, none of the even touched the lab blocks. But they were fed subees mix along with fresh fruits/veggies and lived to be 3yrs+a couple months old. Not bad for 'feeders'. heh  Wink

You know, my mice really don't eat them either. I always offer them, because the babies especially like to chew on them, but the big girls don't do more than carry them around their cage on occasion, and my little boy won't touch them with a 10-foot pole. I just give them the 8-in-1 brand that they sell at WalMart because 1) It's cheaper and since they don't really eat them anyway I figure they don't need the expensive kinds and 2) The nearest store that sells any decent food is an hour away. These guys much prefer the seed mixes I make up.

I feed a mix of Regal Rat and Vita Plus Sunscription Rat/Mouse/Gerbil seed mix and veggies now and again. Stay away from the really watery veggies though.
