Edstrom valve bottles for Hedgies?
«

I am going to be placing an order for Edstrom valve type water bottles for my new group of rats, and was wondering if anyone has any experience using them with hedgies?
If you are unfamiliar with Edstrom valves, you totally have to Google them- they make no clacking noise while the animal is drinking and they rarely if ever leak. Great for rats.

Hm. I am not sure. When I had my hedgies (it has been a couple years now) it was recommended to use water bowls as hedgehogs tend to chomp down on the water bottle tube while getting water and this has been proven to cause dental distress and problems later in life. I had experienced the chomping on all three of my quillkids.

I agree with Melina, I much prefer a bowl for hedgies to prevent them from chipping teeth on the metal (they do like to chomp
). I hate how often I have to clean and/or refill it, but I feel it's safer for him.
