I've read that a lot of people feed "Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover" cat food to their hedgies.  I've heard lots of good things about this brand for cats, and was wondering what the buzz was for hedgies.

Any other feed suggestions are greatly appreciated- we are in the process of researching several sources for input.

When I had all of my hedgehogs they were on a blend of high quality cat foods as well as hedgehog pelleted foods. Insectivore Fare, L'Avian, etc. Chicken Soup was also in the mix, as well as Felidae. It is better to get them used to eating a variety so that when one goes out of stock or stops being produced, you don't have to work at switching them to another diet (which can be very difficult).

Tierce gets a blend of a bunch of different high-quality cat foods and I switch them up periodically (Tierce gets bored easily Tongue). Right now I'm using Newman's Own Organics Adult Cat Formula, Wellness Complete Health Salmon, California Natural Sweet Potato and Herring, and I just added Orijen BARK Cat and Kitten Formula. He also gets PetGuard and Wellness wet food as a supplement. I have to admit, I'm not really a fan of any of the commercial hedgehog foods I've seen -- many contain sub-par or just sketchy ingredients and even corn syrup.

I've tried a lot of things, and the only thing mine seems to like is Iams cat food and/or the Pretty Bird brand Hedgehog food .. he doesn't even like canned cat foods

altho he does enjoy the canned meal worms that you can get at pet stores

I haven't tried live ones, because I worry about him not knowing what to do with a wiggling thing

my hedge is going on 3 and going great, not over weight and very energetic on just Iams, since the pet store that I got him from went out and I can't find the Pretty Bird stuff anywhere else ...

The b/f's hedgie is on Chicken Soup for the Cat Lover's soul Adult formula, mealies every couple days, and a f/t pinkie mouse maybe once a month.
