Edit

-Two black hoodie boys
-3 baby boys (agouti hooded, PEW, and black hoodie)
-Girls [mother (agouti berk) and daughter (black berk)]

Hoodie boys:

Girls:

If you are on the train and willing to give these guys homes, it would be awesome. If you are in the general area of one of the trade offs and want to adopt let me know and we can see if we can work something out.

-------------------------------------------------

So far there are a few people willing to help..

St. Louis ---> Cape Girardeau[Heather]
Cape Girardeau ---> Memphis
Memphis ---> Little Rock [Kendra]
Little Rock ---> Texarkana
Texarkana ---> Dallas
Dallas ---> Me (Houston)

Stikeout = Covered
Bold = Still needed
Glow = Possibly covered

Anyone in MO, AR, TX that are willing to help, please post your location and how far you are willing to travel. If you are in a section that is already covered and are still interested, please post. There is always the possibility that someone will have to back out.

Thanks guys!  Blue Dumbo Smile

By the way.. The transport is for two utterly adorable b/w dumbo boys!

I'd be happy to take them from Dallas and meet you halfway to Houston (Fairfield or something like that). With gas prices the way they are, I can't go all the way to Houston right now. BUT I am planning a trip to Houston near the middle/end of August, so depending on your timeline, I might be able to take them all the way down at that time.

Let me know if I can help!

Thank you for the offer!

Would you possibly be able to do the part from Texarkana ---> Dallas? It would kinda be a backwards trip, but its proving harder to find someone in Texarkana than in Dallas. Its only about 3hrs to Dallas from my house so I don't think it would be too much of a burden for us to get up there and then back. *Plotting*

1/2 between St. Louis --> Memphis (I found out) is Cape Girardeau. I might have someone able to go from St. Louis all the way to Memphis. Not sure yet. Ill keep that leg completly open.

I have a question for you, Kendra. I feel bad for even asking, but would you possibly be interested in doing Memphis ---> Texarkana? I could pay you for gas via paypal or check through the mail. My contact in little rock backed out and its proving exceptionally difficult to find anyone near there.

Unfortunately, my Jeep has over 200,000 miles on it and I don't trust it on a trip that long.  I have some friends in the Little Rock area, though, and I'll ask around to see if anyone is going to Texarkana that they could ride along with.  Also, my husband and I are moving at the end of July, so it would need to be either the 19-20th or 26-27th.  The 19-20th would be better.

Hey - I live in Dallas (Plano) and would be willing to help with your rat train if I can get some gas money. A few months ago I would have just done it but you know what's happened with gas lately. I could actually do the Little Rock to Dallas. I used to live in Little Rock and would like an excuse to visit some friends, so I'd be willing to do that drive. I used to do it every weekend and it's about 5 hours. I would go up over the weekend, pay for my own boarding of course, visit my friends, get the ratties then come to Dallas. I want to help out so let me know if you want me to do this for you.

I am confused about what you needed but it looks like you need little rock to texarkana, but I can do the whole trip to dallas.

With Jesi's offer that would mean a slight change of plans. BUT it would complete the train!  Hyper

St. Louis ---> Cape Girardeau [Heather]
Cape Girardeau ---> Little Rock [Kendra]
Little Rock ---> Dallas [Jesirose]
Dallas ---> Fairfield [CinemaGeek]
Fairfield ---> Me (me)

Let me know if this is ok with everyone.

Also... we would need a date. How about.. starting off on 18th (Friday), Kendra could keep them for the night, if she wants. Then.. 19th ---> Jesirose ---> CineamaGeek ---> Me

You rock, Jesirose!  I talked to my mom and she's willing to go with me to Cape Girardeau to pick them up from Heather if need be.  Then, my husband and I can meet you in Little Rock with them.  My mom and I could pick them up on a Friday afternoon or a Saturday morning, whichever works better for Heather.  Then, we could meet you on Saturday afternoon or Sunday morning in Little Rock.  I have a pet-friendly hotel that I always stay at so it would not be a problem for me to keep them overnight if you're going to be out with friends.

Hey - I assume you guys mean next month right? Cause today is the 20th.

It'd probably be Friday I stay overnight and get the rats on Saturday afternoon and come back to Dallas for the next transfer. Or as long as they have been q-tined I could keep them in my house for the night if the train isn't coming in till sunday Wink

I'll PM you about the gas - my car gets semi-decent mpg, I think it's like 25 or so. I used to go from Little Rock to Dallas every weekend but that was in a Honda Civic and 4 years ago when gas wasn't INSANE.

I'm more than willing to help out, I'm just curious what the story is - why these boys are going so far? They must be PRETTY darn special! Smiley Smiley

Ok.. a few things..

For Kendra::

Quote
The Dumbo boys have been with me for about 2 months. As long as they have been here, they havent had any health problems. I would still qtine just to be safe, for your own ratties sake. I have had quite a few rats come thru here and wouldnt want to take any chances.

Also.. This could be a problem:

Quote
HI
Just talked with Heather and she said she cant do anything until Sunday, July 20th. She works on the weekends.  She is in Ohio now and wont be back online till prolly Tuesday. She asked that you PM her or email her to get details straight. Thanks again!

Im assuming everyone can only do this on a weekend. I'm not sure when Heather is going to be able to bring them down to you, Kendra. Ill let everyone know as soon as I hear. Ill try and see if she is off any day besides Sunday since I believe you all have already planned around 18-20th, right?

I can do it pretty much any Friday-Sunday after the 14th of July.

My mother and I could pick them up from Heather any day that week, but the transport to Little Rock has to be on a Saturday the 19th.  My husband works during the week and we're moving the following weekend.  The only issue would be quarantine.  I don't have anywhere to keep them except my apartment.  If they went home with my mom, I would have to drive to her house and then on to Little Rock, adding over an hour to my trip.  Maybe I could get her to meet me, but I doubt it.  Let's coordinate with Heather and see what her schedule is like before I try to plan anything else.

I can do my part of the trip any day, as long as I know the exact date 3 weeks ahead of time to request off work. I also have a safe place to quaratine if needed.

Heather ---> Kendra
Thursday, July 17th
Time?

Cape Girardeau ---> Little Rock
Kendra ---> Jesirose
Saturday, July 19th
Time?
Location?

Little Rock ---> Dallas
Jesirose ---> CinemaGeek
Sat or Sun?
Time?

Dallas ---> Fairfield
CinemaGeek ---> Me

If you guys want to discuss times/meeting locations with the person you are meeting, thats fine, I just want to make sure everything is arranged ahead of time. Smiley

For CinemaGeek: I know of a place in Fairfield called Sam's. Its a resteraunt that we eat at when we go through. If you know where it is, do you want to meet there?

I talked to my mom and Thursday is fine with her.  I was thinking we could meet somewhere right off exit 96.  It's the middle of Cape Girardeau.  According to Google Maps, there is a Shell Gas station right off the exit.

Meeting at Sam's sounds good. And I can "recieve" the rats on Saturday or Sunday morning, whichever is more convenient for everyone. Times, obviously, can be arranged once we get all the dates sorted.
