My hamster is embarking on a 5-7 hour roadtrip across California!

I'm moving from LA to the bay area somewhere, and my hamster PING! is riding first class with me. (In my car.) It will probably be anywhere between a 5-7 hour trip, possibly a little longer if I need to hang out at a rest stop mid-drive.

Anything I should know to keep little fat grumpy Ping appeased? I've never travelled so far with her before.

Don't put PING! on the floor.  It can get super hot and PING! would be dead by the time you arrive in your new town.  You also don't want to put her directly in front of cold air coming from your A/C either.  If you avoid temperature extremes and make sure she has water the road trip should be fine!

What about your rats?  Are they getting a ride from someone else?

I posted the hamster thing on behalf of my roomie! But I'm taking my rats on the same long trip in MY car! Still have to figure out a way to get them snuggled in there.. their cage is a bit different and since there's three of them, it's crazier!

Also, funny!! My dog back home in san jose  is named Popcorn.
