I just wanted to share these ideas I came up with.  Smiley If you like them please tell me,or if you think they're not so great, lol, you can tell me that too! Well, there are my ideas for homemade toys/beds,etc.

Socks! Have any old, mismatched socks that you need to get rid of? No problem! I have some that I hung up in the cage, with some string, and my mice love crawling inside of,and/or sleeping on top of. You can also cut the toe part off,to make it a hanging tunnel.

As most of you know, toilet paper and paper towel tubes make great tunnels. I poked a hole on each side, and hung one up with yarn. You could even attach them ,with yarn. Just tie them together, and voila~,you have a mountain of tunnels. Or,you could cut a hole in the side of one,and poke another one through the hole, and there you have it,a maze of tunnels!

I've even made small things like ladders, out of clean popsicle sticks. I also made a 'bridge' out of the sticks,by tying them up with more string (I have lots of string,Heh heh.),on each end,and used it to connect two houses.

Houses: I sometimes use cardboard Oatmeal boxes and such,as houses,by taking off the lid, turning it upside down, and cutting an oval-shaped hole in one side. It makes a good house to sleep in. ^.^ You could even add 'curtains',by getting a scrap of cloth, and sewing it over the door-hole. Hope I helped a bit!

A toy idea (Made with more string yes, lol.) is,just take a long piece of string, knot it at the end,and slip on some large beads, bells,or even dried foods! Just make sure the beads aren't small enough for them to swallow.

Those are great ideas. Smiley My girl mice LOVE socks.

I also like to make paper chains for my mice. They think those are great fun to climb, and then "reorganize." Tongue Pinecones are a crowd pleaser too (I bake them before giving them to my pets: 225 degrees for at least 1/2 hour).

paper egg cartons are a huge hit here (there's nothing cuter than seeing a mouse curled up in each little cup), and those cardboard drink holders from fast food places too. Plus, you can cut them apart to make different shapes of furniture.

These are fun to make (variations on what you already mentioned):

hmmm... what else. Well, they love pinatas (I tie cheerios in paper towels for them). I've been meaning to try some of these, but haven't gotten around to it yet: http://www.goosemoose.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,118/forum,rat/topic,4039293.0

(ps- I haven't been checking in on the pocket pets section regularly because it seems pretty quiet in here most of the time. But I love chatting about mice, so I'll start stopping by more often. Tongue)

Ooh,thanks for the ideas!  Grin I use cardboard drink holders and empty egg-cartons too. Smiley The little furballs love to shred T.P. or P.T. (Toilet paper & Paper towels.) and stuff them in the egg cartons, then they each get a sleeping spot.  Ratty Smiley So cute! I also take those tiny stuffed animals, and stick 'em in the cage, they love climbing on top of them, and hiding under them. Also,if you have hammocks they sleep in,I put the extra-small stuffed animals in the hammock, and my mouse/mice cuddle up with them. Grin
