I was wondering if anyone had any cv cages? Are they good cages to have for rats or not? Just thought i would ask. Dont kill me if its a stupid question k.
sorry i was thinking about it and im not sure thats what this type of cage is called lol. here is a link to a cage that im talking about.

Unfortunately, rats will escape through the holes in the gridding and if you have chewers, they'd shred the coroplast base.  It is possible to use this method to make cages if you can find older or 1" grids and double gridding them as well as putting the coro on the outside of the cage, but it's more money and Target's grids are now spaced at 1.5" - hard to make small enough for ratties to not escape from.

If you have the time to hunt eBay, you might be able to find the years-old "kid" version which had 1/2" (maybe 1/4", I can't recall at the moment) spaced grids in red, blue, and yellow colors.

I have a single level cage for my guinea pigs that is made out of the grids.  It can be a pain to work with because it is not cable tied together.  I would invest my money in a ferret nation or similar cage.  The coroplast will most likely be chewed with rats.
