It'll last quite a while. I have 5 rats and I usually only order about 15lbs at a time and freeze it. I haven't ordered since... June... and there's still about half of it left. It freezes well though, so don't worry about ordering a full bag. We just don't have enough room in our freezer for the full bag. Smiley

So I've come to believe that my little monsters were being attacked by their basket and not their hardware cloth in the cage. I went on vacation last week only to find that the first night I was gone, a new little cut on Chunk.  I don't want them to be eaten by their cage or their basket, so I've removed the basket and replaced it by a timothy hay cuddle cave from my vet's office. All 3 of my introed boys fit in it and snuggle together, so let's see if this makes a difference. Hopefully this will be what was needed to prevent future stitches and vet trips.

I've had some go smoother than others.  The key here is to watch what happens in the cage once they are both there. If there's no problem, there's no problem.  Usually, intro-ing a single rat to another single rat either goes very well or you know it's going to take a lot of patience. I didn't mean to suggest that you just stick them in the cage and turn your back.

My easiest into was two older females who had both lost cage mates.  It took about thirty seconds and they are very tightly bonded.  I recently intro-ed a third to that group, and it took two neutral territory meetings and two group cage playtimes (I was nervous about leaving the baby in overnight while nobody was watching).  Everybody is happy.

I went to the old Humane society that closed like 3 years ago, Someone just bought it and they were selling all of their old small animal cages. I bought them all for $25. Some are very nice! Most great for rats, alot great for bunnies and guinee pigs.
When I move I want to start a small animal shelter. So i was more than excited when my mom let me buy all the cages Smiley

"Franky, I think I- what the hell is this?" Andy held up some papers, Franky laughed,"So THAT'S where my homework went!" Andy rolled his eyes and chucked the papers aside."If they wanted us to have this town so badly, they could have at least given us a clue as to where to find the freakin' deed!" Andy murmured to himself. Suddenly, there was a weird dragging sound. Andy stopped shuffling throgh some useless junk and Franky stopped mid-sentence,"What is that?" he asked as he twirled around in a circle, looking for what was making the noise. Ki-Lang was staring at the wall in front of her, the mud-message was slowly appearing. Andy walked over and stood next to Ki-Lang, his eyes locked on the message,"What is that?!""It's from Arwen..." The message ended with the small Elven symbol towards the floor."Does she do this frequently?""Quite, actually." Andy gave the note once last look over and then returned to searching for the deed. Franky seemed confused,"Should I know Arwen?""No." Ki-Lang replied and then shrugged simply."So when does this celebration begin?" Franky thought for a moment then walked over to a window,"My best guess would be a few minutes...""What fun." Andy replied with an annoyed sigh.

Um, hello?  Anybody home? I thought you are trying to find a home for your ratties? I also pm-ed you. Unfortunately, I didn't see an e-mail address in your profile.
