Dog Kennel? Pens.. other questions

Is a dog kennel a good idea? like a 36'' one? What would you say is the minimum size of cage for a small bunny. I want the biggest cage I can get for the least money so in case some days I can't let her out as much as I want, she will still have a lot of room. Also, for pens, how high do they have to be so they can't jump over?
Also is 5 months full grown? Because she probably only weighs like 4-6 pounds. Is she going to stay that small? (rescue at humane society tempting me!! )
Also Amanda (Shadow Wolf) Are you sure that bunny was a girl? They have her labled as m/n which I assume means male neutered..? Can anyone direct me to a good clear picture for sexing bunnies? Also, would I really have to get another bunny, or do you think he/she would be ok on his/her own?

I only peeked right quick. Didn't play around too much with bunny gender parts. Haha.
This is the bedroom (they're out 90% of the day in an x-pen) for my two:

My rabbit's cage is an x-large dog crate. It is a good fit for her and gives her plenty of room. She does get time out of her cage often though so she can really run and hop around.

I'm using my sisters dog crate. Her ex-racing rescue greyhound came with it, but for obious reasons, he won't use it. Now it is my extra cage. I just adopted a lady for my grumpy guy. My boy has free roam of the house and for the time being the girl is in a cage. Eventually, they will both be allowed full access of the main floor. I have carpet tiles (non-adhesive) in the bottom of the cage right now, and she hasn't tried to eat it yet, though its' only been three days
. We'll see what happens.
Check out craigslist.com for cheap dog crates (make sure you type in your city). Good luck.

My 4lb boy is in a two level 36" X 24" cage, but he is ONLY ever locked in there for 5-8 hours a day (at night, basically...however long I happen to sleep, which isn't usually much, sadly). The rest of the time he has free range of his large bedroom, and at times the rest of the house.

I'm in the works of building on to a giant (great dane sized) dog kennel. The kennel itself will work as a "den" and I'll probably cover it with a balnket and I have a bed in there that I made out of a giant laundry basket with blankets in it. I'm going ot use the NICs to attach a pen big enough for 2 large bunnies (although I'm thinking of adopting on American and one holland lop/harlequin mix. Not to mention it's taking up my entire bedroom.

If it's an option, I'd skip the kennel/crate and just get the pen. More space, easier cleanup, etc. I've used both dog crates and pens for cages, and I prefer the pens hands down! Very easy to clean up too. Just clean the litter pans, and sweep/vacuum the rug. Easy Peasy. Plus, they get a ton more room.
Once the weather is nicer, you can also take them outside (Supervised of course) in the pen.
My two have an entire room to themselves, and I just use their pen for the gate in the doorway. For height, 24" can work depending on the rabbit, but I like to get 30" tall.

It's easier if you put the tail between your first finger and middle finger, and pull that downward slightly as you press with your thumb. And make sure to really stretch/press (don't hurt the rabbit!) because sometimes they can trick you. Especially the young ones.

Hey Maeve!
I have an extra large dog crate that my bunny lives in. It has his litter box and food bowl and a few toys. Although he spends most of the day in there, when we come home, he comes and sits on my lap. He likes to be held like a baby and have his cheeks scratched.
The boys usually have testicles. Thats how I knew I had a boy!
