was checking craigslist, and there was an ad for FREE rabbit cages. I of course jumped on that, because I have been "Collecting" empty cages for a while now to use in the future when me and my friend live together in our own large house and do animal rescue. (And actually make ourselves non-profit.) So I went down to his house (He lives right by my friend), and took a look at his cages expecting them to be small plastic take apart cages, and they were not..they were outdoor wood hutches that clearly would not fit in my car. SO I told him thanks for letting me come check them out, but I can't take one. Then he said 'Would you like a rabbit"....and I said 'Oh....you have bunnies too?". He took me to where the bunnies were and told me he wanted to get rid of them because they won't stop breeding. He said he already gave away 40 of them, and he had 3 left. One was flea ridden and had bald patches, but he was "Keeping her". And the other was HUGE, and then there was a young dutch, absolutely adorable, and 6 months old. I just could NOT say no, especially considering it is 109f outside right now, and those bunnies looked MISERABLE, and I am surprised they are still alive. "It" is very untamed, not used to human contact at all..scratched me all over my arms..lol. But this bunny just begged me to take it. I wish I knew where the cord to my camera is so I can take pictures. On the way out to my car, the guy said "Oh..by the way, they are very easy to care for. Just throw in some leaves and water and they are good to go. So apparently they have been eating leaves. Poor things!

Anyway, I looked online for some sexing help..I THINK its a boy. I think I found a testicle, but there is only one...Hes a black dutch, very small. Very afraid of humans. I gave him some Pellets, and timmothy hay..and some fresh water. Hes inside, the airs on and its nice and cool.

I will take pictures on my camera, and then the next time I go to my friends house or she comes here, I will put my memory card in her camera and upload the pictures. He looks like a classic black dutch.

I am going to attempt to find a new, good home for him. So he will be a foster unless I can't find a home for him. My job now is to make him healthy, and get him people friendly.
