Okay, So. I currently own Five rats and want to expand my family to include a Flemmish Giant Rabbit. I have never owned a rabbit before, so bear with me if I neglect to ask for information I should.

I  DO NOT however, want it to live in a cage. I want it to be free to roam (parts of) the house during the day when I am at work. Just like a dog or cat would. Obviously I need to make a few arrangements before I actually unleash an animal on my poor house. I would like advice on the following:

Litter Box Training

Chew-Proofing

Feeding Arrangements

Toys, Bedding, Activities for when I am at work

Bonding

Any advice would be great! Also, any information on Rabbit Rescues you know of would be nice, too. I want to rescue. Even though I am looking for something very specific, I am willing to wait.

Thanks so much!

The best info I could possibly give you would be to send you to rabbit.org.  There is a ton of great info there on keeping a house rabbit!  As for rescues, if rabbit.org doesn't have a chapter in your area, check out petfinder.com.  I should warn you though, rescues don't often get in the giant breeds.  In the three years I've been a volunteer, I've only seen two giants and they came at the same time from the same place.
