Several HT types available via USPS (New types available!)

Thanks to Everyone!
I have moved out of state, and am no longer able to make purchases at the warehouse; should you be in need, please be sure to check the other GM threads for surplus buys, specials on shipping, et cetera. It's been wonderful having the chance to help other rattie owners out.
If the Mods wish to delete this post, please do so, and thanks again!
The flat-rate shipping boxes are a wonder of the gods! And with a nearby Pet Supplies "Plus" carrying Harlan Teklad, I am prepared to offer this method of mail-order food to those who might need it. I have noticed several threads with requests for HT, and I know the shipping from west- and east-coast stores can be murder; I live in Minneapolis, I know! -- and want to be helpful if I can.
• Flat Rate Boxes can be used for both domestic and international shipping:
Small Flat Rate Boxes, the shirt box size (11" x 8.5" x 5.5") and the shoe box size (13.625" x 11.875" x 3.375"), can be used for domestic and international shipping.
— Available to anywhere in the U.S. for $9.80
— One rate to Canada and Mexico for $23.95 (though I thoroughly recommend that you talk to
Popcorn
for handling Canadian rattie lovers' food needs. See the response below!)
— One rate to all other countries for $38.95
*20 pound maximum for international shipments
The Priority Mail Large Flat Rate Box, (12" x 12" x 5.5") is 50% larger than the original Flat Rate Boxes.
— Domestic $12.95
I can fit up to/around 13lbs of food into the smaller box, and about 20lbs into the larger box. If you need all 33lbs, I will send you one parcel of each, with the blocks Ziploc-bagged within. Bulk pounds are available at $1 per pound, with the exception of 2019, which is an expelled pellet (an easier to digest/absorb block, at 19% protein) and costs $1.50 per pound. An entire bulk bag of 33lbs typically costs between $27.00 and $33.00 plus a little tax.
About PayPal:
Please be aware that any credit card payments made through PayPal are charged an interest fee of 4.9% and then some change. Example: A $33 order is charged approximately $2 when I withdraw the fund to my bank account. So if you've got a checking account that could be linked to PayPal, I strongly recommend going that route! My banker was sweet enough to set up a free checking account just *for* my PayPal. I will accept direct transfers to my Wells Fargo bank account as well.
Also, it is my practice to store and file addresses, shipping information, et cetera in my Gmail account (Fourth[dot]Wand[at]gmail[dot]com)-- I will ask you, via e-mail correspondence, to confirm your shipping address and name with me so that I can access them (safely) on the fly.
My basic information needs are as such:
I will need the name of the person who wants the blocks (if you are paying for someone else, or someone else is paying for you) attached to the payment. In the e-mail request, please include a name, shipping information, type/number of block, poundage, and any special notes you might want (three individual pounds bagged, et cetera) to include.
Update 7/2008
: I spoke with the ladies at PSP, and they let me know that my order has come into the store. There is a limited but healthy supply of 2014, 2016, 2018, 2019 and 8604 blocks available that they will hold for me for a bit. If any of these match up with your fur-kiddies' diets, let me know! Even if you have a few pounds of food on hand, they freeze well and it's better to get 'em while they're plentiful than have to switch up protein amounts with what could be left over.
If there's a particular diet you wish to order from the Harlan company, please let me know and I will have the staff at Pet Supplies Plus order it for you. They're remarkably helpful and aim to please. So, if there's a need, just let me know.
Cheers!

Dearpie:
It's sitting at about $1 per pound, if I buy it in bulk, but the girls at Pet Supplies "Plus" are willing to sell me a 33-lb. bag for $25, which is rather sweet of them. I nearly cried in happiness when one of the ladies offered to order whichever type I needed.
Dream a Fever:
6 pounds to South Carolina would run (I'm guessing; it's midnight and I'm nowhere near a post office
so you have my best guess) about $15 and maybe some change. PM me with your information if you're in need, and we'll work out a Paypal exchange.

K,
I'm in Canada and to find HT is hard. In barrie there was a really awesome pet food store. Can anyone tell me what to get with HT?
I have 3 rats 8months
and two babies...
And I'd be looking at spending $50
does it go bad?

Eventually, the nutrients *do* break down, as with any compressed food stock. So you wouldn't want the same 5-lb bag sitting around for months and months and months. And here is the HT website:
http://www.teklad.com/rodent.asp
--each diet category has numbers listed along the right-hand side, with nutrition facts and a brief description of each when you click on the specific diet. I know that lots of people will feed their younger rats the 2018 or 2019, but each rat owner has different preferences and rats with different needs. Let us know if you have any questions, tho'; this site and its' members are a wellspring for product reviews!

The postage should all be the same. Use a priority box. They're free and you can stuff 15 pounds of blocks in them.

Yes indeedy. Yay for the flat-rate boxes! The lady at the Post Office looked at me kinda funny when I walked in to mail food to Topaz, and even more strange was her face when I said, 'Oh, this is rat food', but whatever!
) It all works out in the end. I'll ask the ladies at PSP if they can offer me any more of a discount on the pounds, and make a post here for the prices. In the meantime, I understand that food can stretch a person's wallet, especially with postage costs, so as long as the recipient can cover the shipping costs, I don't mind being flexible with the food money. Call it a karmic investment.

Just a bump; I'm going shopping soon for my rats (I do a once-a-month bonanza day. Toys, treats, fabric and foodles), and will be picking up any extra food for those in need of Harlan Teklad. Let me know here or in a PM if you're interested.

$1 per pound, so $10 for food, and $8.95 for the box--- right about $18.95. Where is 17110, if you don't mind me asking?
I ship the food in super-sturdy Ziploc bags. If you'd like it in a different style of package, just let me know.

Mumsy's Rat Rescue IN BARRIE, who happens to be ME
, sells HT 2014!
$8.00 for a 10 lb. pail picked up. $10.00 delivered locally.
I also ship HT all over Canada. For example, a 33 lb. bag shipped to Winnepeg or Halifax can cost you less than $50!!

A quick bump; I moved at the beginning of the month and have been offline (sadly, away from all the wonderful Rattie Pics!) for a few days. In another week or two, I'll be making another run to the warehouse to pick up some 2014 and 2018 for my fur-children. Does anyone need anything? I'll be purchasing the pounds in bulk, at a dollar per pound, unless I receive any requests, in which case I will buy the 33-lb bags and weigh out mail-order pounds appropriately. Let me know!
