Last Thursday I was doing a walk through at work. I looked in our "exotics room" expecting it to be empty. I was surprised to see a large bunny sitting in one of the cages. I went in to see whose it was. The cage card simply said "animal services" under owner. I asked the receptionist if they knew anything. I was told one of our clients brought her in. Their had been a group of domestic rabbits running loose around his area for some time. He was finally able to trap one in his garage, but when he went to get her, he found a chewed up box of rat bait nearby. He brought her in and the doctor started injections of vitamin k. I went back to visit her and fell instantly in love. I felt an instant connection to her, and her to me. I told the doctor there was no way I wanted her to go to animal control. He called them but they said she had to be help for the stray period (until this Tuesday Puppy Dog Eyes:)in case someone tried to claim her. The doctor was finally able to convince them to let her stay at the hospiatl for that time. I was upset yesterday because I really wanted to bring her home, so he let me cheat.

So, now time for the pics. Here is Jezebel!!

What a cutie!  Is that considered a himi or siamese with the nose points?

I'm not really knowledgeable when it comes to breeds. I have always had mutt buns. I am pretty sure she is a Californian. There are a lot of them that get tossed aside here. They are popular for the 4H kids who raise meat rabbits. Sad

Well, Jezebel is very pregnant. I knew it was a possibility when I brought her home, so I'm not surprised, just worried.  Worry

Is she too far along to do an e-spay?  Good luck, either way...

She was too far along for an e spay. Plus, there was the issue of the rat poisoning. If she had been a good surgical candidate I would have had her spayed right off the bat. I don't think I could have done it knowing she was pregnant, though.

She had her babies Saturday afternoon while I was at work. She had a small litter, only 5. They are all doing great!

Oh my!
Lok at the little markings on the black bun!
Looks like the silver marten I used to have. Silver on bottom, black on top.
GORGEOUS!

They are so cute! She may be a himilayan or californian rabbit. If she is not a himilayan or californian rabbit she is siamese colored.
