So I called a number in an ad for a 6 month old hairless who's been living alone, apparently, and is about 6 months old.  Turns out it's a female, and I have all mostly intact males, so I can't take her.  The owner is a teenager who is going off to college, and can't take care of her anymore.  :doh:  I'm going to check with the lady who just adopted my two girlies to see if she would like a hairless, but is there anyone here in Jersey who would want her if that doesn't work out?  I mentioned Kim's Ark to the guy, but it sort of seemed like even calling them would be too much trouble for the guy.  She does appear to come with a Coast cage.

I'm located in Lawrenceville, but the rat is in East Brunswick.

I can probably take her but do I have to deal with the guy in E. Brunswick? I'd rather deal with a genuine rat lover.

I think she's still available...Gabriella e-mailed him.  He's not so keen on making any actual effort to take the rat anywhere, it seems.

I emailed him, and he responded..I am waiting to find out when I can get her......This is perfect, since my lil Hymie is alone and almost 2 and needs a friend.....I'll let you know when I get her....Think i'm going to name her Flower...or Crinkle....wish me luck... :thumbsup2:

That's weird...You do have his cell # from the ad, right?  Every time I e-mailed him he responded immediately.  He has "agreed" to let you have the girlie, right?

I'm at work, can't call the cell.....He offered her for $45 or even $35...and that works for me, cuz $35 is all I could afford before I get paid..... :-\ I'm going to try again....Suspense is killing me too!!

I hope you're getting the cage for that $35!  He offered me everything for
$30.  Even his ad says "best offer". 

Hmmm...he told me he didn't care about the money at all.  I wonder if all this interest is making him think he can get more out of the deal.  :-\

At this point I want that little rat out of that's guy's "care" so badly that I'll offer to give jodie money to adopt her if she can't afford his "best offer."

Ok...I sent the guy an e-mail to "feel" him out and he responded right away asking if it's ok to give the rat to jodie because she's closer.  So I guess it'll be ok.

I don't understand..I've sent the guy two e-mails in the past couple hours and he's responded right away.  He says he's giving you Pinky since you live closer than I do (although he did add "while he's in college"-he does realize this is a permanent arrangement-doesn't he?) 

Ok, latest update...I got a response, but he doesn't pay attention to what I ask him...LOL....I'm going to call him....keep your fingers crossed....

ugh......I just talked to him, and we are hooking up on Friday, he is dropping her off at my house. We just couldn't work the scheduling out. She nips, but other than that is ok. She was purchased from Petco in Milltown about 3 months ago...she loves grapes, but has lived alone. After Hymie's surgery and QT is over, I hope they will be friends... so we have to wait till Friday night for piccies...He sounded grateful that I was getting her...so lets hope everything goes smooth

Now, he can't bring her to me tonight because his friend tried to commit suicide and he had to be with them, so he is in Red Bank tonight, but he swears that he will bring her to me tomorrow. :eek:  Then I just get a text from him to confirm we are meeting at either East Brunswick mall or Freehold, neither of which I agreed to.... :doh: I am so mad right now I could spit!! I told him I would come and get her, but that is not an option. I think he is jerking my chain!! :angry5:

 :doh: Cripes!  What is wrong with people? I mean, I'm sorry about his friend, if that's the truth, but still.  He won't let you go to his house, or you're not comfortable doing that?  I do generally advise people to meet in a very public parking lot.

I wish you luck in your endeavor.  I need to stay the heck off Craigslist.  Another person trying to get rid of a single rat that her sister abandoned at their house.  :doh:  A boy this time.  I told her I'd take him, but advised her to not try to give him away free, and to contact Kim's Ark about helping her find a quality home.

Man I've been following this thread and I have to say that this guy sound like a piece of work. I mean I can't say too much to the suicide attempt, but who ever heard of selling something without the intention of ever letting it go?  :yelcutelaugh: I swear some people. How can you put up an ad and then expect the person to pay you money AND jump through a hoop?

I know Looney....I am soo frustrated, but I cannot turn my back on her, ya know? Like I said, I cannot begin to let you know what my wrath will entail if I get there and I find something fishy going on...

I've been watching this thread, because if I had room for one more, I would have been all over this.  We're at critical mass though, with our two lovely latest editions. 

If you need help from someone in the neighborhood, to get this rat, let me know. I'm not sure what I could do, but I'm around.
