Title: Let the name game begin! **UPDATE** RIP Post by: jujipup on May 11, 2008, 02:03:41 AM So I just bought a new hairless maley and would like some suggestions on names. ^.^
Possible names so far include Mitchel, Guy, Eldwin. I was looking for a real masculine name b/c he's really my first male. Timmy was my boyfriends. Post by: Rattiemama on May 11, 2008, 04:22:30 AM I like Edwin best. How about Harry or Kojak? Maybe Jean Luc? He's a cutie! Congrats!
Title: Re: Let the name game begin! Post by: JustJuffy on May 11, 2008, 08:38:14 PM He looks like a Rick, to me. He's cute though. Congrats!
Title: Re: Let the name game begin! Post by: jujipup on May 11, 2008, 09:58:02 PM Hehe we were thinking Alcki b/c he sways so much like a drunk... but I didn't like that specifically. So was trying to think of a booze with a cool name.
Otherwise we were thinking Old Man b/c he looks like one. XD Keep the suggestions coming! ^.^ Title: Re: Let the name game begin! So was trying to think of a booze with a cool name. Not the name of an alcoholic beverage technically but...Bender. It's also a reference to Futurama, which is a hilarious cartoon. Title: Re: Let the name game begin! Post by: RatAttack59 on May 12, 2008, 08:28:25 AM Gin Ricky - Ricky for short!
Title: Re: Let the name game begin! Post by: fluffy pluffy on May 12, 2008, 03:35:09 PM Umm..How about Arnold? That's what he looks like when I look at him. :)
Title: Re: Let the name game begin! Post by: zizi on May 12, 2008, 04:40:35 PM I was looking for a real masculine name b/c he's really my first male. Timmy was my boyfriends. Chuck Norris! :yelcutelaugh: Title: Re: Let the name game begin! Post by: jujipup on May 12, 2008, 05:43:16 PM lol Chuck Norris. That made me laugh.
I have a cousin named Ricky, so thats out. Hehe Bender. I've seen that show, but he doesn't seem to be a rude and mean piece of metal. XD A friend suggested Winfred but not sure if I want that either. XD I'm very picky when it comes to names. I wait until I find just the right one. Title: Re: Let the name game begin! Post by: Lilija on May 12, 2008, 07:25:45 PM Some alcohol names off the the top of my head. Hmm, Jack or JD. Jim Beam or Jim. Ol' Grandad, Johnny Walker, Bailey, Absolut, Stoli. I had a name theme with alcohol for awhile, with my pets, so it's something I've given thought to.
Title: Re: Let the name game begin! Post by: Maddeebear on May 13, 2008, 01:42:14 AM I suck with names! One of my hairless boys is named Raisin. ;D I like funny names for funny looking ratties! I wish I had suggestions but I'm totally out of creativity. If I have any ideas I'll let you know. Just wanted to tell you you're boy is a CUTIE. Are those dumbo ears I see?
Title: Re: Let the name game begin! Post by: wonderrodent on May 13, 2008, 09:22:44 AM What about Hercules, Eros, Hypnos, Helios, Bacchus, Adonis, Atlas, Paris, Achilles, Neptun, Zeus, Pluto, Apollo, Sisyphus (sissy for short - well, maybe that's not a good idea)
Title: Re: Let the name game begin! Post by: fluffy pluffy on May 13, 2008, 11:30:20 AM Well,Wonderrodent has some names to pick from! :) (Heh,heh Chuck Norris I'll name my next male pet that!)
Title: Re: Let the name game begin! Post by: Maddeebear on May 14, 2008, 12:28:07 AM Chuck Norris is a good one! I'm totally saving that name for future male pets too! Haha!
Title: Re: Let the name game begin! Post by: rodent_girl_1985 on May 14, 2008, 12:41:12 AM Maximus or Gladiator
Title: Re: Let the name game begin! **UPDATE** RIP Post by: jujipup on June 12, 2008, 09:48:08 PM So, with not even a month of having welcomed him into our home... he passed away. He never received an official name, but was always called Old Man for a temporary name, so that is the name he shall keep.
I came home from work to find a tiny puddle of blood on the bottom of his cage, and he was dead by the time I came home from work the next day. ;_; He was such a sweet rat, and for only having him a month, that was way too short. RIP Old Man! Miss you! *sends kisses to heaven* Title: Re: Let the name game begin! **UPDATE** RIP Post by: fluffy pluffy on June 12, 2008, 09:57:34 PM Oh my gosh..Juji,I'm so sorry! :'( :angel10:
Title: Re: Let the name game begin! **UPDATE** RIP Post by: sbdirham on June 12, 2008, 10:04:13 PM Ouch! I'm so sorry for your loss!
"only having him a month, that was way too short" ...... I can imagine how attached you must have become in "only" a month. My deepest condolences. Title: Re: Let the name game begin! **UPDATE** RIP Post by: momerath42 on June 13, 2008, 12:41:53 PM So sorry for your loss of Old Man. He knew you loved him very much.

Title: Re: Let the name game begin! **UPDATE** RIP Post by: BuBBa on June 13, 2008, 07:19:01 PM I'm so sorry, R.I.P Old Man
Title: Re: Let the name game begin! **UPDATE** RIP Post by: jujipup on June 14, 2008, 03:52:31 PM Thank you everyone. Well, he's roaming in Heaven with all the other ratties and mice we've had pass away as well. Hehe.
I am just glad knowing that I spoil my rats galore. XD I normally go on a shopping spree and spend like $50 at least every month or two. lol I know he had it good here. We had a thought that he was older when I got him too. So, its not like he was a bouyant young rat who passed, he did appear elderly. Title: Re: Let the name game begin! **UPDATE** RIP Post by: fluffy pluffy on June 14, 2008, 06:57:44 PM Well,I hope he passed happy, and I'm glad you're taking it quite well.
Title: Re: Let the name game begin! **UPDATE** RIP Post by: slimynolegs on June 15, 2008, 09:20:58 AM Aw. Happy thread turns sad so quick! :(
Also- pool of blood? What happened? Title: Re: Let the name game begin! **UPDATE** RIP Post by: jujipup on July 15, 2008, 10:30:21 PM Well, it wasn't a pool of blood. More like a puddle the size of a nickle. Since he passed before I could do anything, I didn't take his corpse to the vet. My boyfriends mother thinks it was either bladder infection, broken blood vessel, or that he was just plain dying. We figured he was older after I got him. At least he got to pass with people surrounding him with love other than at the pet store with people going, "Ew! A rat! A hairless rat! Ick!"
Title: Re: Let the name game begin! **UPDATE** RIP Post by: whtnyte on July 15, 2008, 11:35:39 PM Oh my, I am so sorry to hear this. The poor guy. At least he knew love and friendship in his short life!
Title: Re: Let the name game begin! **UPDATE** RIP Post by: Scubbs on July 15, 2008, 11:42:08 PM You mentioned that you bought him... Maybe in the future, go to a reputable rescue? Most rescue rats are vet-checked before going home, and good rescues are up front with you on all health issues. Some rescues even spay/neuter their rats previous to adoption. Pet store rats often come home sick, and/or have a virus.
Title: Re: Let the name game begin! **UPDATE** RIP Post by: jujipup on July 16, 2008, 08:35:03 PM Yeah. I got him from a petstore. My roomate bought a chinchilla and I saw him all alone in a cage and I couldn't leave him behind because my roomate was buying a pet. XD
Yeah. I just posted on a different board that I will be buying from a breeder here on out. Title: Re: Let the name game begin! **UPDATE** RIP Post by: TheZookeeper on July 17, 2008, 12:58:06 AM He got to be loved instead of dying alone in the pet shop! I know it hurts but I hate to think of just leaving him there because he might die too. I am sorry for your pain!
