Post by: itschelsea on May 11, 2008, 06:03:28 PM
went back on an agreement with me that i was very explicit about, and i'm really mad about it. so i'm making him buy me an FN to make up for his b.s.  ;D what kind should i get? like what type? i have 3 girls, and i'd like room for 5.

If you want room for 5, you need the 695.   There are plenty of pictures in the cage decoration threads.

(I presume the 985 is a typo for 685?)

Don't you mean a Martin's cage and not a FN?

I would go with the 965, although even that would be tight with 5 IMO. I wouldn't keep more then 4 in it.

personally i like martins but for more ratties go RUUD or FN 2 story. But personally i would go with the R-695 out of the 2 you said.

Eh you wouldn't have to get a double FN. A single-story FN would be fine for 5 rats, especially females. I'd just be careful and make sure they couldn't squeeze through, or modify it with hardware cloth just in case. Yeah, it's a pain in the butt to do so, but it is such an easy cage to clean and decorate. That's one reason why I chose it over a Martins.
