Title: Losing colour Post by: Dristan on May 27, 2008, 01:05:49 PM I noticed that in the past month or so my brown hooded rat's fur has been losing colour. Would this be something natural or is it a sign that something may be wrong with her? I just lost one of my girls to a respiratory infection so I may be a little paranoid about the well being of the rest. Any reply would be appreciated

They're fur fades to white as they age. I'm not sure how fast it happens though, or what age it starts at but that could be a possibility :)
Title: Re: Losing colour Post by: Addicted2Rats on May 27, 2008, 01:51:18 PM How old is she? My older guy, Riff, is a black hooded but the black seems to have faded a bit as he's gotten older. So now it looks kind of like a dark grey color instead of black.
